For a new version? I don't know if having two over six feet tall Wolverines in a row would fair (for the die hard fans).

I remember those, but I think they were just photoshoots the actors did for various magazines, and aren't actually how Clark and Lois will look in the movie. Especially because they were looking WAY too sharp and stylish to be any kind of newspaper reporter.

Though he's not wearing glasses here, he looks close to Clark Kent the mild-mannered reporter.

I think he will only assume his Clark Kent newspaper reporter identity at the very end of the film. The way I see it, in this film, Smallville Clark is his true identity, Superman is his job, and news reporter Kent is his disguise. Especially when it's true that Lois knows his identity by the end of the film. Then he only needs reporter Kent to fool the rest of his colleagues.

That is how I see it too. I like how Smallville approached it and having Lois know that Clark is Superman.

If that happened, he'd have to wear the superpope hat.

Maybe during his world-roving years he's picking up experience as a freelancer before landing his big job at the Planet.

Here are three videos focusing on Superman's powers (it's mostly footage we've seen before from the movie, but there's some commentary from the cast and filmmakers and there's a really good new shot in the flight video that's clearly inspired by Superman: Birthright):

Well there were promo shots for magazines, and then there was an actual set photo of Clark in the suit and wearing glasses.

Superman: Birthright is probably one of the most influential pieces of source material they took from, the other being Superman: Secret Origin. One more month to go!

I like Pa Kent's, "Maybe." Looks like we may well get more than a gee-whiz treatment of Supes; my fingers are crossed.

If Superman spent all his time saving lives, then he would be doing little, if anything, else. Realistically, he would have to let nature take its course in the vast majority of cases.

For me, Singer's film inadvertently highlighted what increasingly feels like an inherent problem with the basic concept of the character. The price for his masquerade at his "day job" is that the whole time he's pretending to be a reporter there are people all over the place who need saving and it's just tough luck.

Well he still has to be able to learn about disasters and criminal activity in the world first, before he can put a stop to it. And it probably makes it easier to prioritize things and focus on the more crucial problems first before the standard bank robberies and car accidents.

Although it was probably a bit easier to buy on, say, the old Adventures of Superman series-- when Superman's powers were a bit more limited, there was no information age yet, and it was obvious he actually NEEDED the reporter job in order to hear about stuff.

Whatever the incarnation or the limits of his abilities, he can't and shouldn't be everywhere solving everyone's problems, great and small; and his system has always been that he focuses more on his home city, but travels abroad for the bigger stuff that comes to his attention. If something smaller comes to his attention and he's able to help, he will, but he doesn't scour the globe looking for every cat stuck in a tree.

Not even Superman can save everyone. I think this only humanizes him even more, this probably weighs on Clark's thoughts everyday. Even he knows that he can't save everyone even as powerful as he is. I wouldn't call it an "inherent problem"...I'd call it part of his human upbringing and perhaps even an endearing character trait. Despite all that tremendous power he still can't save everyone.

I can't remember where I saw the story, but a few days back I found a page that linked to this story on StyleBistro which says that Warby Parker will be selling glasses "inspired by" Man of Steel. It's not a 100% confirmation, but it does seem a lot more likely that he will wear glasses somewhere in the movie.

Zack Snyder told Empire that the running time is 130 minutes, but WB has emailed some details about the film to press outlets and stated that the running time is 143 minutes. Snyder may have been giving an approximate running time excluding credits.
