F.P. Santangelo and his cohort are insufferable with the Nationals, who are making a case to be one of the most annoying bandwagoning fanbases in all of baseball. These guys throw absolute fanlike temper tantrums when they don't get a call and they constantly say stuff like "Wow, Gio isn't getting that call."

Mostly fair. Although couldn't be more of a homer if they zoomed out and he had on Yankees footie-pajamas...

How many hours do you think he spends in the offseason standing in front of a mirror with a tape recorder trying to come up with and perfect his douchy home run calls for the new Yankees each year? If I put the over/under at 5, could you safely take the under? Doubt it. And do you honestly think that doesn't happen? ;)

What a clown.

Like Chris Berman on ESPN. Just STFU and stop trying to make yourself part of the story...

Just like the Red Sox Nation and the Phillies "Phans". Wasn't too long ago the Nats were begging people to come to their ballpark.

I hate to say this, but the acquisition of Gregg seems like it's working out so far. He looked good today for the Cubs.

Geez. I'm glad the Braves are getting the hell out of San Francisco after three straight ass beatings. It would be nice to play well in AZ to salvage the road trip.

Note to Joba:

Insulting Mariano Rivera is NOT a good career move. The few people who don't think you're a jackass for getting yourself hurt by jumping on a trampoline, now think you are a jackass for sniping at Mo. If you don't want to end your career as a batboy for Slippery Rock State Teacher's College, I suggest you apologize. Rapidly.

Phillies superstar Ben Revere is currently sporting a .471 OPS.

Hell of a fuckin' trade there, Rube.

I'm not sure what's happening with Revere. He had posted good numbers with the Twins in the couple years he was with them.

Conversely, Vance Worley has an ERA of 7.15 with an opponent avg of .379, so it's not like the Twins have made out all that well so far either. We'll have to wait and see how Trevor May handles the big leagues, but if given the option at the moment I'd take Ben Revere back. Hopefully when May joins the majors I'll change my tune.

No, he really didn't. In 2011, Revere posted a 76 OPS+; last year, it was 89. So he wasn't really even anywhere near league average. Revere essentially has one core tool -- run really fast -- and beyond that, he's a slap hitter. It astounds me that with nearly 1,200 plate appearances in his career, he has yet to hit a single dinger.

Cubs lock up Anthony Rizzo to a potentially nine-year contract, in a deal that makes no sense whatsoever for the team.

Yeah, I saw that... first question that came to my mind was.. why? At least the last two years are team options. Like the Castro long term contract, this really seems like a gamble with a player who hasn't yet demonstrated he can consistently perform at the major league level. Both strike me as lite versions of the Soriano contract.
