White House petition calls for merging Australia and USA to ...

I'd be in favor of Australia becoming the 51st State if only to see Australians point at Texas and say, "That's not a State-- this is a State." :rommie:

I think that 4 of our states, as well as the Northern Territory are all bigger than Texas (though Texas's population is larger than the whole of Australia's).

If the petition gets enough signatures, the Qantas Koala will change its motto to "I hate America."

australians already have a beautiful paradise land full of freakshow animals, gun control and healthcare.

joining america would mean leaving the civilized world.

I have relatives who live in Texas, Queensland. I visited them as a child. My Mum was originally from nearly Goondiwindi.

Nope, sorry. No way, no how. I'm not the biggest baseball fan in the world, but it has to be more fun than watching cricket.

You can introduce any other British Commonwealth sport you like, but cricket gets locked away in the giant Indiana Jones warehouse.

If it means we can freely go to Australia and work there without a visa, I'm all for it! It's a terrific country... just so damned far away from the rest of civilization.

So Texas isn't just small, it's overcrowded ! ;)
Texas would be the new Rhode Island.

Rhode Island would just be the old Rhode Island.

We can just honor our British heritage by shipping our criminals to Australia. This would reduce prison overcrowding significantly and give Australian businesses an influx of cheap foreign labor. :p

But rugby is a hell of an improvement on American football.

I guess it's not called Grid Iron anymore but with all those stops and starts it should be called gridlock.

And Australian rules football beats both.
