Things about Star Trek you just found out

Apparently Patrick Stewart is doing the voice over on those awful National Rental car commercials

"Yes you could, Business Pro. Yes you could"

It just doesn't have the charm of "Have you considered buying a Pontiac?"

That Star Trek (2009) is rated as the Best of the Star Trek feature films...

Still shaking my head over it... Of course I investigated the IMDB site and learned that most of the people who voted it great were males in their teens, so...
Why am I not surprised?

Why would anyone be surprised? Most of the TOS fans I've met started off as teen males way back in the 70s.

Kirk's dad is Thor.

(Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel movies, played George Kirk in ST09.)

courtesy of reddit...

EaF--The memorable and feisty female officer giving directions to Riker, and then gives his ass the once-over as he turns away. Yeah, her.

She's Evelyn Guerrero and she's done a Playboy photoshoot that's quite attractive.

Twenty-six years since she stuck in my mind with that Farpoint scene and I never knew...

I just learned that she was married to Pat "Mr. Miyagi" Morita from 1994 until his death in 2005.

That some fans have been incredibly adept at CGI with original Star Trek, to make something like THIS. And that was 2 years ago!

Wow. That was really well done. I had to watch it several times just to catch all the changes he made.

Roscoe was only after them all the time because they WERE hauling shine...

In reality, that Boner from Growing Pains was Walter Koenig's son in real life. It makes that joke even funnier in an episode when Mike Seaver was complaining about writing an english paper to Boner and he says, "Until today I thought Chekov was that Russian guy in Star Trek".

Kind of a downer now given his tragic end.

Until the other day I had not connected that Elinor Donahue (Commissioner Nancy Hedford in Metamorphosis (TOS)) appeared in the series Father Knows Best with Jane Wyatt who also appeared in TOS as Spock's mother Amanda.

He did make one mistake. The turbolift doors aren't deep enough in the pocket to line up when someone steps to them. Other than that, I have to say, I wouldn't be able to do that. I can only draw with a pencil.

That in the end of Day of the Dove, Kirk implies that others like 'the alien' may be partially responsible for the history of the Fed-Klingon conflict.

I never realized Krudge, in ST3 was Christopher Lloyd. Now I can't look at him without thinking about Doc Brown... which is ironic on the level that they use his ship to time travel in the next movie. :p
