Guess I didn't notice this before or maybe I did but if you look at the itunes page, it has the comics with text. And CHRISTOPHER was able to note most of what was said, but what wasn't there before was the scroll bar which scrolls the comic to the next page, which is the teaser page for #4, but this time has text.

Can anyone make out what the Klingons and April are saying??

^actually I can read a little of what the last two pics say..

Klingon: And why would we do that April?
April: Because I can give you the Starship Federation Enterprise

Can't make out tho what April was asking of the Klingons yet.

April wants to make some kind of deal with them and offers the Enterprise in return.
But I can't quite make out what the deal is.

Here's what it seems to say...

Ext. Klingon city. Caption: "QO'NOS. THE KLINGON HOMEWORLD."
Voiceover: "I want to make a deal."

    Int. room with holographic communicator.
Klingon: "You are not in a position to negotiate, April."
Floaty April head: "You're right. Phaedus IV all but belongs to the Klingon Empire. I have to accept that truth now. But I must also ensure the safety of the innocent Phaedans in my care.
"I want you to make me your colonial governor on Phaedus, reporting to imperial command."

    Closeup on helmeted Klingon.
Klingon: "Hah! And why would we do that, April?"

Closeup on floaty (and goateed) April head.
Floaty April head: "Because of what I can offer in return, General... The Federation starship Enterprise."

    Well, no...
As far as the Klingons are concerned, the planet's already theirs. April is trading the Enterprise for his appointment as its governor.

Well, they'll probably be a starship to be named later involved in the deal, too. Or draft picks.

    Well...
...technically I was right, April is giving them the Enterprise for so that he can control the planet to protect it's people.

Well of course, plus a shoe deal.

I wonder what happened in the Abramsverse that turned April evil...

Based on Countdown I wouldn't call April evil.
He's spent 20 years fighting a war, trying to protect those poor Phaedans from being slaughtered when he could have hidden behind the PD and stayed on Enterprise drinking coffee, working his way to Admiral.
Stealing Enterprise and making that deal seems to be his last & only hope to win.

Has anyone ever had the thought that maybe Harrison might be a Phaedan in disguise?

Which he had no right to get involved in.

That's his problem. Stealing a Starfleet vessel is theft. Breaking the Prime Directive is a gross violation of Federation law.

In case anyone's thinking of ST III: Kirk only stole the Enterprise - an EMPTY Enterprise, not one with a full crew aboard, unlike April's actions - to help Spock. And he was fully prepared to face the consequences of his actions afterward. Kirk did not violate the Prime Directive and intervene in anything like April did at Phaedus.

What April did there is basically the same as Captain Tracey's actions at Omega IV, and April is no better than Tracey, really.

except Tracy was doing it for his own greed, while April was trying to stop a genocide.

Spock stole the Enterprise in the Menagerie and violated General Order 4.

In TOS the Enterprise seems to get hijacked at least three time per season.

Kirk regularly intervenes in alien culture, Beta Three, Vaal's World and Neural come to mind.

Mr. Laser Beam, I don't think anyone's saying April's actions are in the right -- just that "evil" is too simplistic a word for his motivations. People often do the wrong things for what they believe to be the right reasons.

^ But just because they BELIEVE it's the right reasons doesn't mean they actually are.

And it should then be no surprise that this is the theme of STID, and Harrison's motivations.
