They should have a editors retreat instead seeing how they are the people dictating and writing the plots.

For LoSH, Paul Levitz needs to go the way of the dodo.

That is what someone sarcastically stated in the Bleeding Cool forum. Rich though probably is implying that they're working on something else.

After seeing the preview on CBR, I decided to get Batman and Robin Annual #1 and was blown away with how great this issue was. I think this is probably the first issue of Tomasai's run that I've actually really loved. What Damian did for Bruce was down right heart warming and finally showed some progression of character. The art work was pretty decent, and we get Damian wearing his Batman 666 costume for really the first time lol. I don't know if this will be enough for me to pick this back up but I was extremely impressed with the annual.

Superman #16: This was pretty decent as well...although I don't really like the idea of Clark purposefully threatening his cousin the way he did in this issue. I know the relationships are different than they were in the DCU, but I still can't see Clark ever threatening Kara the way he did in this issue. Also what was the deal with Wonder Woman telling Superboy to criticize Superman at his peril? What was so wrong with what Kon said? I don't like the way Diana has been written outside of Azzy's book. The art work is simply gorgeous. This book has evolved from a gong show to a pretty decent book I have to admit, even under Lobdell.

Batman Incorporated #7: This was an outstanding issue...in fact, the last two or three issues as we build up to the climax and the finale, have been incredible. I absolutely adore Chris Burnham's art work. Damian has a chance to shine in this issue as does Jason Todd to a smaller degree...and Talia has never been more lethal than she has in this run. A very different take on her character than we've seen before, and we saw little snippets of this take in "The Dark Knight Rises" in my opinion. I'm getting a little nervous about the grand finale though. I hope he doesn't end up killing off Damian...but it sure is how feels like that is what is going on here. Where exactly this book fits in the New 52 of course puts a question mark on that theory obviously.

Aquaman #16: I think Aquaman and Wonder Woman obviously have been the two biggest beneficiaries of the relaunch. Johns is doing some great work on this book, and surprisingly for the lack of Mera in this arc, the other characters are starting to benefit from his attention. I love his characterization of Vulko. The art is not bad either.

Up to this point Clark and Kara have only met a couple of times and each time she was very much on the offensive, coupled with the fact that right now Superman is trying to save the world/universe it seems logical he'd be somewhat threatening and hostile towards her. This is still Superman, however, and we know he'd never "cross that line" but he's also probably willing to say and do whatever he has to just short of that line to complete his goal.

Yeah...don't get me started on Supergirl...I did follow the book for a number of issues before finally dropping it. I love Kara's design, but don't really like her characterization or what they're doing with her. They basically fought each other right off the bat after their initial meeting so their interactions with one another haven't exactly been cozy. Anyway that was a minor nitpick for the most part.

Hopefully after H'El arc Kara will realize the error of her ways and what Superman is doing and their relationship will improve.

DC's latest "innovation": Special fold out covers!

The guys in charge love the 90s so much they'll probably give Clark Kent a grunge makeover soon.

I wonder what theme they will be accentuating when they get back to chromium holograms?

At least that was just Superman with bad hair. Please don't bring back Azrael-Batman DC. Or biker outfit Wonder Woman.

But do bring back Wally West, the one true Flash.

This was already posted in the thread several pages ago. I believe by Gov Kodos, and then I posted another link from Bleeding Cool. I can't believe we're back to gimmick covers again lol. I honestly wonder how long they're going to be keeping the New 52 on their covers even since we're in year two now.

Looking into it, yeah, that seems right. There's a couple more years' worth of books before the 1000th issue is hit with Action (and then probably another year for Detective.)

The previous volume ended on #904 and had at least 12 annuals, a 1,000,000 issue, and at least one 0 issue. The current volume has had 16 regular issues, one 0 issue and an annual. So we should be on approximately #936 right now.

I'd say 904 is where it's at, at least in the strict numbering of the books since the annual, 0 issues and so forth don't impact the regular numbering of the "main issues."
