They are going ahead with a Justice League movie

How did you think Wayne survived the nuke?

I assumed he had time to prepare.

I think that's exactly right. What we were told was that the ejector seat or autopilot or whatever wasn't working and that he had to fly it out there manually with no means of escape. But just because he claimed that, that doesn't mean it was true. As I read it, he lied about that in order to fake his death -- he "prepared" for how to make it look like he died in the blast, when in fact he was able to jettison and fly the plane out on autopilot. After all, it's Chekov's Gun. We were told exactly how he could have flown the bomb out to sea and survived, so the logical conclusion is that that's what he did, and that his claim that he couldn't pull it off was simply a misdirect to set up his own apparent demise.

(Although that doesn't explain the epilogue in the cafe in Europe. Don't they have TV in Europe? Surely he'd still have one of the most recognizable faces in the world.)

Unless they've made another Green Lantern, I don't think the movie should have any trouble at the box office. Hint guys, there's a reason that The Dark Knight made so much money, and Green Lantern was a dud. It had lots to do with the quality of the film, generating good word of mouth and repeat business. If you're going to take pages from Marvel's book, just remember to take the page about making your movies good.

As some have speculated, WB are looking at the success of Man of Steel before they commit to making the JL movie.

This just confirms the common sense, following GL, that many have had.

The good news is that unlike that first GL footage, MOS has not gotten any bad press right out of the gate. A problem GL never overcame followed by slow leaks that some suits were not happy with the delivered product. MOS is not following down that path so there is reason to be optimistic that not only will not be GL, but not be SR either. I remember being stoked by the SR trailers only to then see the film.

I'd guess that once Marvel stumbles GL level bad we may see a dialing back of the pace their films are rolling out. Until then though...onward to Phase 3.

I'd rather they scrap a bad script and delay a few months to get a new one than to have a crappy movie made from said script.
