U.S.S. Whachamacallit

Just to keep this going, my new ship is the Clavius. Named after that crater on the moon. Also, a reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I managed to get my hands on a Tuffli freighter. She has become my new dilithium farming vessel, when I'm not expecting to have to fight.

She's named the Lady Penelope, after the character from the old kids series The Thunderbirds.

In most games where I have to name ships (there's not many, unfortunately) I name them things like Intrepid, Defiant, and such...but since most of those ideas came from Trek, I want to use something different. I just hit the random name button until it comes up with something I both like and sounds semi-uniqueish. Some pretty random stuff generally comes up, but my current main is the USS Grim (which doesn't sound like a typical TV Trek Starfleet name, but goes good for a hybrid Prometheus escort).

I do the same thing with characters, since I never play the big three races (humans, vulcans, and klingons), and I don't know what the naming traditions are for others. I'm pretty sure my KDF Alien is just some random letters.

My main character's ships, in this order:

U.S.S. Shining Armor [Exploration Cruiser Retrofit] [Galaxy Class] [Current]
U.S.S. Celestia [Dreadnought Cruiser] [Future Galaxy Class]
U.S.S. Equestria [Advanced Research Vessel Retrofit] [Nebula Class]
U.S.S. Fillydelphia [Light Cruiser] [Constitution Class]
U.S.S. Fluttershy [Cruiser] [Constitution Class Refit]
U.S.S. Pinkie Pie [Light Science Vessel] [Oberth Class]
U.S.S. Princess Luna [Odyssey Tactical Cruiser] [Odyssey Class]
U.S.S. Rainbow Dash [Advanced Heavy Cruiser Retrofit] [Excelsior Class]
U.S.S. Rarity [Mirror Assault Cruiser] [Avenger Class]
U.S.S. Shadowbolt [Advanced Escort] [Hephaestus Class]
U.S.S. Twilight Sparkle [Assault Cruiser] [Sovereign Class]
U.S.S. Wonderbolt [Star Cruiser] [Vanguard Class]
U.S.S. Spike [Danube Runabout]

Any new ship names out there?

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before. My engineer character names his ships in honor of notable Star Trek directors, writers and ship designers.

USS Fontana, Constitution Class (D.C. Fontana, Writer, TOS)
USS Barret, Type-8 Shuttle (Majel Barret, Actress, TOS & ST:TNG)
USS Meyer, Miranda Class (Nicholas Meyer, Director, The Wrath of Khan)
USS Piller, Stargazer Class (Michael Piller, Writer, ST:TNG)
USS Echevarria, Galaxy Class (Rene Echevarria, Writer, ST:TNG and ST: DS9)
USS Eaves, Sovereign Class (John Eaves, Ship Designer, Sovereign class)
USS Behr, Regent Class (Ira Steven Behr, Executive Producer, ST: DS9)
USS Wolfe, Galor Class (Robert Hewitt Wolfe, Writer, ST:TNG & ST: DS9)
USS Sternbach, Delta Flyer (Rick Sternbach, Ship Designer, Intrepid, Delta Flyer, Nova, Prometheus, Vor'Cha, Negh'Var, Galor)

I'm trying to come up with my next ship's name. Ideas I've come up with are:

La Grange
Aurora
Ecliptic
Penumbra
Radiant
Resolve
Solar Wind
Zenith

Any suggestions or preferrences from this list?

My ship (I've only had one so far, as I don't play that much) is the U.S.S. George'n'Gracie.

I just named my new ship: the Brava Centauri. It was named in honor of an extinct attraction at Epcot.

I love it. Named after the whales from Trek 4, or the clasic comedy team?

The whales from Trek 4. It was a ship from my script I submitted to TNG when it was on the air. But they made the episode where the crew de-evolves into salamanders and monkies and stuff instead of mine so I just pulled the name out of my script for STO. lol

My ship names were:

1) USS Ranger (Centaur class)
2) USS Agamemnon (Constitution class with Excalibur warp nacelles)
3) USS Saratoga (Frakenstein-esque Heavy Cruiser, so called because it was made of an assortment of parts from each class)
4) USS Hermes (Excelsior class)
5) USS Pioneer (Venture class)
6) USS Michelangelo (Delta Flyer class)
7) USS Hyperion (Sovereign class, also the ship currently in use)

New Ambassador class: U.S.S. Lagrange. It's a bit obscure, but it's a reference to the film/book 2010: Odyssey Two.
