Houston isn't managing much on the offensive side, but they are pummeling Brady. Dude's been getting drilled all night.

Aside from seeing Brady knocked on his ass a few times, MNF tonight was about as much fun as an anal evacuation.

I don't like seeing Brady get hit, but I admit MNF was so awesome that I also shit myself.

It was weird to see 3 TDs followed by 3 3-and-outs. That worries me.

What people that don't follow NE on a week to week basis don't realize is that their run defense is actually pretty good. Their D overall gets maligned (rihtfully so) because their secondary is dreadful. The Talib trade and getting Chung and McCourty healthy for once has helped though.

Their secondary really isn't dreadful anymore. Talib's been a pretty solid pickup, Dennard has come on strong in the latter half of the season, and McCourty is so much better at safety than he is at cornerback. I no longer worry when I see the opposing QB drop back like I did earlier in the season.

^They haven't been boss in a while. The Giants own them, and before that they had a couple of shitty, home playoff losses.

If NE gets a bye, they might play on my birthday in the divisional round. The Tuck Rule Game was on my birthday, so I have a good feeling if they do.

Of course after the Super Bowl loss last season, my ex-wife called the next morning and said she wanted a divorce, so I donno if I what kind of luck I am.

Tagliabue has vacated the suspensions of all four Saints players punished in the initial Bounty rulings. His decision basically came down to the fact that while there was proof of inappropriate behavior (one article I read said he actually found indications of a bounty, another article said that it was just a general pay-for-performance fund), there was no behavior on the field to justify large suspensions or player fines. Vilma still plans to pursue his defamation lawsuit against Goodell.

Basically, the players are having their suspensions vacated only on the fact that individual appeals require such a high level of scrutiny that wasn't able to be met due to the active interference from the coaching staff with regards to the investigation. There was zero exoneration. Tagliabue affirmed basically everything Goodell concluded, but did not have enough to uphold the direct suspensions based upon the coaches muddying the water.

In other words, Tags just showed Goodell just how shitty of a commissioner he is and said, "That's right, bitch, now go make me a sandwich."

That's how I read into it as well. The league had the suspect and the body, but not the murder weapon.

Well, it seems more like they hired and paid the hitman, but no evidence the hitman actually killed anyone. In other words, they set up the bounty program and paid players for big hits, but it's not entirely clear the players changed their behavior in a way that injured others.

Given the fact that it's a fairly violent game to begin with, it's probably not easy to determine that, though.

I'm not asking any of you to ever watch First Take, but Deadspin just posted an article with a clip of Rob Parker questioning RG3's blackness. Ho-lee-shit. You know it's bad when Stephen A. Smith says he's uncomfortable with the direction of the show. Buckle up folks. What an idiot.

My Texans got their ass kicked! Oh well. We're still 11-2 and still have an excellent shot at a 1st round bye in the playoffs. Guess we'll see. I'm not worried at the Indy or Viking games at home, the road game @ Indy might be a problem though. If the Texans win out, they'll have home field advantage through out the playoffs. Denver and and New England are the only two playoff teams that truly worry me. And they worry me a lot.

But at least the Texans are making it to the playoffs these days. It's a nice improvement over their past. :)

I saw the clip just now, and that Stephen A. bit was hilarious... he just looks at the camera, and in typical Stephen A. fashion just says "I'm really uncomfortable with the direction this has taken."

I had no idea this happened (I, like most Americans, work during the day) but it definitely explained why my twitter feed blew up. I figured it out on the way home when Dino Costa had an entire segment on this on his radio show.

"I believe they call that an ass whooping. The Patriots were impressive, aggressive, and effective in all phases of the game. The Texans just played like a buttered penis."

And now Rob Parker has been temporarily suspended by ESPN with a "full review" pending. Gee, who would have thought that having a show run by trolls could result in an embarrassing racially insensitive comment?
