The Star Trek Into Darkness teaser trailer is here!

Alice Eve rocking the blue again, her eyes are slightly different colors, interesting what you see on close ups.

Interesting, her right eye is closer to the weird blue-green effect that mine have. And my son (with my green-eyed wife) has a blue eyes that are closer to her left eye.

Anyways, she's got to be Dehner, but I'm still not convinced it's Mitchell. I'm still hanging onto Garth of Izar.

I think Carol Marcus and Garth are in it. :techman::drool:

If the blonde is Carol Marcus I will be very happy and if the villain is Garth I will be both ecstatic and right.

The blonde is gorgeous and looks like she and NuKirk could produce a much better looking David then what we got the first time round.

What are you talking about? He had a great fashion sense and awesome 80s hair! You can't get any better looking than that.

You know, while reading all of these posts and threads about who Cumberbatch is playing, it occurs to me that I have no idea who Gary Mitchell or Garth of Izar are. Apparently I have never seen those episodes.

I'll say one thing about casting Merritt Butrick in TWOK and TSFS...you know how most children of fictional couples in films and on television usually don't look a thing like either parent? Butrick's facial features were pretty close to the way Shatner looked in TOS that I could easily buy that he was James T. Kirk's son with Carol. In particular their noses and mouths were very similar, so I always give kudos to the casting department of Star Trek II for recruiting Butrick into the franchise.

You could believe he was a Kirk even if his last name was different.

Probably like 99.9% of movie audience :)

But he didn't have Kirk's chutzpah. Or anything else that made Kirk a legend. I guess he had that whole son-of-a-legend cringe going on.

But the difference is that it's really bothering me.
Good thing TOS is on Netflix so I can remedy the situation. It feel so ill-equipped to dole out crazy fan theories on the BBS!

"Where No Man Has Gone Before" is one of my favorite TOS episodes. That one with Garth, on the other hand... not so classic.

Scott Evil. That's all.

Trailer looked exciting. However, it's just a trailer so I'm reserving judgement for now.

From what we see its very little, however, the speculation is the fun part, right?

Whose Alice Eve playing? Denher, Rand, Chappel etc? Who knows. All speculation points to Denher and Mitchell double act. She looked pretty bat-shit angry in one scene. And she's wearing a blue casual uniform top, which to be fair could be any member of the crew, but it's there and we're speculating. Rand wasn't science or medical, although anything can change, Chappell was though, so could be her or just a random love interest for one of the crew.

As for Benedict, again, could be anyone, the revenge line could imply any number of things from the beginning of the film or even an unseen classified mission that comes back to bite starfleet on the arse, then someone is forced to recite the missions events making the crew familiar before they let slip the dogs of war.

Well find out soon.

I'm getting my torch and pitchfork.
Who's with me?

I always assume when I watch those two movies that David had his father's looks and his mother's personality. To his credit, though, he did display his father's courage in TSFS when he leaps in front of the Klingon dagger and takes the death blow intended for Saavik.

Many TOS episodes have managed to slip past me. I honestly don't know which ones I've seen and which ones I haven't.

I do know that I really like "The Cage," and I wish that it could somehow be adapted to the big screen.

Looks like I have some work to do.

Any other villains Cumberbatch might be playing whose episodes I need to watch? I've seen "The Space Seed."
