Warehouse 13 Season 4 (discussion, spoilers)

Well!

That was quite an ending. Artie was on fire!

Hopefully there's an artifact that undoes Sweating Disease.

Now, the long wait...

"That looks like a Klingon battle axe"
It really didn't.
I didn't think so either, but another weapon on that same rack looked a lot like a Vulcan lirpa!

I would also hope that there's been something discovered in the time of Warehouse 9 thru 13 that would counteract that disease. They did say it was the deadliest artifact of Warehouse 8, not of all time. So will we see the German family after the break, or were they just in for this episode?

As for Artie, I'd say he's injured, but definitely not out for the count. I'm guessing the real reason anti-Artie wanted the dagger was not to keep it from Claudia, but to "cast out" his good side permanently.

H.G. could use the Astolathe herself perphaps, then they would have to bronze her or something afterward so she does not turn evil.

The first time it was released it was stopped when Warehouse 8 agents bagged the Orchid. But as we saw, the orchid disolved to spread the disease, so what did the Warehouse 8 Agents bag to stop it?

It's confirmed...Leena's dead: Warehouse 13 Post-Mortem: Death and the Next Big Bad

TV Guide Magazine: Why did you decide kill Genelle Williams' Leena?

Kenny: We needed to lose someone who meant something. It couldn't be a guest star, it had to be somebody who meant something to our team.

TV Guide Magazine: So she is dead dead?

Kenny: You know...yes. [Laughs]

TV Guide Magazine: Claudia had that great scene with Jinks where she explains how they've brought people back from the dead in the past. Is that not going to be the case with Leena?

Kenny: We may see Leena again, but not alive. If we brought back everyone who died, death starts to mean nothing. It would be impossible to raise the stakes.

TV Guide Magazine: With Pete's ability to feel vibes, I guess we're going to be seeing her on a more spiritual level?

Kenny: That is not a bad guess! [Laughs]

I thought this was really good finale. I'm very curious where they're going to with next season. So I wonder if Pete will continue to see Lenna's spirit, or if it was just for a short time?

I was wondering that too. It would be kind of cool if he could see her once in a while.

Leena's really dead. So much for my bronzing idea. :(

Despite that-- actually, in part, because of it-- this was a great episode. The reactions to Leena's death were heartbreaking. Even Mrs Frederic lost her cool for a second.

And Evil Artie sure knows the buttons to push, and he is the Batman of Warehouse 13-- he's prepared for anything. Mrs Frederic should have given orders to stun on sight.

Now we have to wait six months to find out what effect the dagger will have on Artie and how they will save the world from Sweating Disease. It's an ancient disease, so hopefully a little Ampicillin will do the trick.

I kinda hope so, too. I would be nice to have her still "on their side," so to speak.

The release of the sickness was definitely an "Oh crap" moment. Micah said there was no cure, so this will seriously screw things up. Will Artie survive, come back to his old self and then figure out how to stop the plague?

It looked pretty magical in nature, so you probably need magic antibiotics . .. .

What was the dagger's purpose? To kill Artie or Evil!Artie?

I thought Artie wanted it because he was getting visions from Evil!Artie--that the dagger kills Evil!Artie and leaves Artie alone. Well, Artie seems pretty injured, so I guess that idea of mine failed.

The...uh...plague? It sure spread fast.

I'm thinking it killed Evil Artie. I can't imagine they'd kill off the real Artie.

At least I hope not.

Yeah, that was kind of a joke. Although maybe some artifact associated with the discovery of antibiotics....

I have a feeling that the only way to stop the plague will be to use the astrolabe again, and figure out some other way to save the Warehouse (not to mention HG, Steve and Mrs Frederic). Since this would turn back time, Leena could theoretically be saved, too.

I would bet against the astrolabe being used again. It would be a cop out. Besides Leena is very dead.
I liked that Pete could see her aura-spirit-thingy it's a nice call back to him being in tune with his aura, and giving Leena could see auras it's a cool connection between the two of them.

Shame that's it for Brother Adrian for now, Brent Spiner was excellent.

I'm not really thrilled with the way TV "seasons" are arranged these days.

Mid-season finale? Ain't that an oxymoron?
