What, no benefits?
No, that's no option, I'm afraid. AC units are very expensive, hard to get and not common in Germany. We consider them a waste of energy and not "environmentally correct". Even most hospitals don't have any. Instead, we invest in better thermic isolation and build our houses so that they don't heat up too much (not so many windows facing south, for example). Is there not a Das Walmart you can drive over to and pick up a window unit?
Indoors it's usually nicely cool. The prob is outdoors. Today it's rainly and pleasantly cool, though![]()
"Das Walmart" is funny. Interesting that they tried to introduce Walmart in Germany some years back, but it failed.

You can get a decent window unit at any number of stores here for like $150. It won't cool the whole house, but at least you can sleep in a cool, comfortable room.
As for energy, I'm paying for it. And if I want it cool, I will pay the extra money for it.
I weep for the future of our country.
Congratulations on the job!
Now you just have to endure the ire of every US taxpayer!![]()
