New Series Seven Trailer!

why is it every Dalek in existence, looks like every RTDs Dalek in existence, more to the point, didnt they get totally wiped from existence?

Check out this thread from two years ago where we discuss comments from Moffat saying the New Paradigm were only supposed to be the Dalek's officer class while the RTDaleks still exist as common Daleks. Lip service is played to the New Paradigm slaughtering the RTDaleks being because those particular three were "impure."

ok so its possible the New Paradigm may have built some new RTDs style Dalek, but every Dalek in existence, is alot more than RTDs and NP Daleks, its all the Classic series Daleks, as we know from the picture of all types of Dalek together.

So putting aside why all the Daleks are just standing doing nothing whilst the Doctor does whatever it is he is doing, why does it appear like they are mostly RTDs Daleks.

Does the BBC have any CG meshes of the New Paradigm Daleks? Maybe they only had meshes of the RTD Daleks and it was cheaper to use those instead of making whole new ones.

I dunno, just a random guess that's probably wrong.

It did seem a little out of the blue, but he is his arch enemy after all. Plus is it from the western ep? If so Moffat hasn't written that one, has he?

Nice to see him brought up. Wouldn't surprise me if maybe we'll get a few mentions in prep for a possible anniversary return?

Does anyone think that Richard E. Grant's role in the Xmas special might be as The Master?

um, i tend to think that they do, however thinking about it the NP Daleks have received so little screen time, they might not have made any yet.

It just looks like a sea of RTDs Daleks, not the variety of Daleks, as seen in the poster, even if they recoloured some of the RTD Daleks silver, it would help.

Its a wild guess, but from the trailer, I'm going to guess that the NP Daleks for some reason need the Doctor to eliminate the past Daleks. Perhaps to avoid another civil war?

And considering how we're constantly hearing how tight their budget is, it always struck me as mad to simply toss out the RTD Dalek casings. So I'm glad the show is hanging onto them. Plus Moffat isn't stupid. I'm sure hes quite aware of the negative reaction to the new ones.

Just tossing this out there now that I've watched the trailer over a dozen or so times, but a crazy thought, perhaps Amy is the one that stops the Daleks and not the Doctor and the aftermath of her actions is why she's being carried by the Doctor?

pure speculation ahead.

its interesting that in the S1, Rose / TARDIS / Time Vortex / Bad Wolf, divide every item of Dalek existence, where as in this one, every Daleks from existence is bought into one place, almost the opposite. To say nothing of the fact that the Daleks had apparently slipped though the cracks from Amy, as we saw her not remember the Battle of Canary Wharf or the Daleks moving Earth.

Are these facts all somehow connected?

My inner six-year-old is already primed and ready, sitting cross-legged on the floor, gazing up at the television. All I need is a bowl of cheerios and I'll be set. :techman:

September 1 can't come quick enough.

I had thought that a possibility from the first viewing. I've heard a lot of people think the "Who do you think?" line to be the Doctor being arrogant but I think it sounds bitter and I'm not sure to who he's referring.

The season is rumored to begin on September 1st.
I thought August 25th was the rumoured airdate? Indeed, the Space channel has their Doctor Who marathons lined up to accomodate an August 25th premiere date.
BBC America doesn't. They're broadcasting a new Doctor Who documentary on the 25th at 9 o'clock. On September 1st, they're marathoning season 6 and "The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe" all day with an unscheduled block at 9 o'clock. (See the week 5 schedule.) Evidence points to September 1st for BBC America. Beyond that, I'm not at liberty to say, except that it's highly likely that September 1st is also the BBC 1 date.

The only possible reason why a 1st of September airdate would make more sense, has nothing to do with what any other channel is doing. In the UK Saturday the 25th of August would fall in a bank holiday weekend. Airing it one week later means it no longer airs during a bank holiday weekend.

That's a lot of NSDs! And only a couple of New Paradigms...

I guess Moffat meant what he said about the RTDaleks being the "common Daleks" while the New Paradigm are the "officer class."

There's no way that that was the original intent. You don't name an officer "drone". The Moff was clearly giving in to fan complaints about their terrible look. And that is a good thing. The new (new, new) Daleks look great. No hump, no Ikea colors, just great.

Why would it be better for it to not premiere on a bank holiday weekend?
