Well, okay, but that still means she holds the record for most first contacts in the 24th century. That should get her a mention in the history books.

No one would remember Sisko?
A man who was at the forefront of the Dominion War? Who was responsible for several major victories? Who discovered the first stable wormhole in existence? Who helped rebuild and stablise Bajor after the Occupation? Who helped design the Defiant-Class starship? Who was the most important icon in Bajoran mythology?

^Well in order, Britsh Prime Minister (1940-1945 & 1951-1955), Portuguesse Explorer and Venician Merchant. Though that being said I would expect most people to get the first, some to get the second and the third perhaps only a handful. Though depending on what country you live in that might change.
I don't consider his becoming president legit, since it was a screen graphic never intended to be seen up close (and requires freeze-framing to read. And has incorrect dates for the Enterprise's decomissioning and Cochrane's first warp flight). I much prefer the idea Archer ended up a crusty old instructor at Starfleet Academy, whose beagle died in a reckless transporter experiment, from the last movie.

Nah, that transplanted alien liver or whatever it was from "A Night in Sickbay" gave Porthos super duper doggie longevity.

I don't think one is better than the other, they're just different and I like them both!

He stumbled around blindly, disrupted the status quo, and annoyed every species he encountered to band together so they could do a better job that he could ever hope toArcher may have been dull as ditchwater, but he founded the Federation, and had two planets named after him by Kirk's time.
The NX-01 may have blazed a trail or two but it ultimately fell to diplomats, politicians and lawyers to actually form the UFP.
Also comparing Archer to ditchwater is offensive to ditchwater. Think of all the micro-organisms and bacteria that live in ditchwater. It has more life and substance to it than Archer ever could
That's the very mature way of looking at it. Each character has their own particular strengths and weaknesses, likable and unflattering qualities, that it becomes a very subjective exercise. There's also the matter of timing. I wouldn't have liked to serve under Picard in the early days, but in the latter half of the TNG series, definitely. For Kirk, I'd have served under him for the 1st two TOS seasons, but probably have transferred to another assignment by the 3rd.
