The Dark Knight Rises Anticipation Station

Well, it's possible it's just not on the soundtrack album. But I guess we'll all find out in a couple weeks.

There are three bonus itunes tracks not included with the retail soundtrack that will be released next week when it goes on sale officially I assume. This score is glorious. That is all.

Sadly, the music in trailers is rarely on the soundtrack.

That's because music from the trailers usually comes from somewhere else: another movie the studio has rights to or some other song they have rights too. It's mostly "placeholder" music to sell the idea and such of the movie, not meant to be in it.

While this is usually true, I've been noticing an increasing trend of trailers using music that's used in the film itself. Off the top of my head, 28 Days Later, Where the Wild Things Are, Inception, Tron: Legacy, and Prometheus have all done this. I can't recall if the previous two Batman films did this or not.

I'm still hoping for an extended edition like we got with Dark Knight. :)

How does one get the bonus digital tracks w/out itunes? Will Amazon have them for download purchase too?

You won't get the itunes tracks anywhere else, they're exclusive to itunes.

Also there has been score music in "The Dark Knight Rises" trailers and TV spots. There are cues from "Gotham's Reckoning" and other tracks that I recognized. Maybe not everything. Remember too that this is not a "complete" score either. It's just the retail release score.

Oh, I'm sure we'll get those itunes tracks elsewhere... just not legally. :p

But that's their own fault for making them exclusive to a single service, which is utter bullshit. I'll pay for a digital download; but make it available from multiple retailers. I despise apple and won't deal with them for any reason. So tired of this "everyone (51%) has an (insert type of) account, so we'll just put it out through that!" nonsense.
Because you know, not everyone does have such. Some people don't have facebook, or twitter, or google+ or itunes or whatever else. So maybe stop trying to force everyone to have such by only releasing specific content through specific means, hrm?

Sorry for the (off-topic) anti-corporate-bullshit rant, I just get really pissed off when I hit those same road blocks over and over because I choose not to have my name and address and credit card on file track backed to sixty-two different companies monitoring every key stroke I make. Bad enough to do it with one or two, IMHO. That's as far down that slippery slope I'll go though.

Anyways... to the TDKR score... it's my sincere hope and belief we'll get an expanded score by August. As with TDK. Even though TDKR isn't as hyped, the new legal abilities for hollywood to release expanded scores have been nice. I don't mind double-dipping either, like most.

I believe that we didn't get "The Dark Knight" collectors set until December 2008, right before Christmas IIRC. Maybe they'll do the same thing for "The Dark Knight Rises".

Well after watching the 15 minute hype piece my interest level has gone up and I believe that my 4 year theater ban will be broken to take this in on the big screen. I am just hoping the internal logic of the characters is better than it was in TDK.

I'm not sure I've laughed quite so much at a pummeling before.

Really great costumes tho, almost as good as the real thing! :techman:

Great clip, very funny.
I also finished listening to the soundtrack, and I loved it.
