A good point. This is what I'd like to happen soon on the Earth-2 series:
Alan is not full on gay, he's bisexual, so that means he coud've had a girlfreind before. He did! Together, they had a child, Jade and now they fight over custody. And Jade could become green because of some accident.
It would have been interesting to split the Alan choice into pre- and post-Flashpoint, since (even without the gay issue) they aren't really the same character.
Alan is now in his mid 20's, (late 20's if you want to be generous) to be contemporary with Jay and the rest. It's not an issue of him being bi-sexual at some point, it's an issue of age.
So your best options to see the character of Jade are limited to things like seeing a Jade from a parallel world, or a Jade who is the product of sperm donation traveling back from the future to the present. Or, worst case scenario, a "helena bertinelli" like retcon of Jade.
But the JSA are young now. I'm waiting for Ted Knight, my favorite JSAer to show up. Jack Knight is my favorite comic character of all time, but I'm okay with him being retconned out if it means getting another cool version of Ted.

But then my stomach turned in Day of Judgement when the ghosts of the entire Corps come back from the dead to forgive Hal Jordan his murder spree because deep down he's a decent person no matter how many horrible atrocities he is responsible for because who he is is more important than what he does and there is no relationship between the two states.

I should have done that, but the DCnU Alan has only been around for three issues, and introduced as green lantern for one. I just feel that the character has not develpoed ennougth for anyone to judge, besides who the hell would vote for a three issue old character while all the others have been around for decades?
I have annother idea. Lets try and hope Jade is still on Earth-1, this time not related to Alan, how about annother alian GL? She is green after all. Renember, with Johns incharge, anything is possible
I liked Arisia when I was a teenager because she was close to my age, and it was interesting seeing a GL start out. But then she got popular and IIRC, they aged her up so she could be in a relationship with Hal. I thought it was creepy then. I wasn't aware of Johns retcon.....exactly how did that work? She's an immortal with the emotional maturity of a kid or what?
In Green lantern corps during the 80s while still having the body of a 15 year old, she tries to logic herself into Hal's bed by saying, "My planet spins on it's axis twice as fast as earth, so although I'm 15 earthican years old, I'm actually 30 alien years old. We're the same age, so why don't you do me?"
Johns however 25ish years later says that her planet spins on it's axis 10 times slower than earth, so that although she looks like a 12 -15 Teran year old, she's actually about 200 human years old, even though she's only had only 12 - 15 birthday cakes.
You can see the difference?
Why wait 25 years to cover up something no one remembers or cares about?
In the 80s, being a child myself, the idea that the ring forced both Arisia's body and mind to grow up immediately was odd, that she was zap suddenly altogether emotionally, mentally and physically an adult, that only seconds after this magical metamorphosis when Hal Jordan sees that she's a whole foot taller than she was the last time he was in her company, without finding out what it really means to have her ring murder Arisia's childhood, he sticks his tongue down her throat because deep down he had been looking for an excuse to get it on with a 14 year old for weeks now.

Can Jordan or any other Green Lantern launch a mental attack against their opponent to turn then mentally and/or physically into 4 year olds?

Unless I'm remembering wrong, and I'm too lazy to go check, I think Kilowog was sad when Hal and Arisia started dating, since he had a crush on her. This was pre-Emerald Dawn and the retcon of making him the Corps tough-as-nails trainer. Back in the late 80's when he was introduced, he was a big softie.
He was a softie and hardie, but the hilarious thing was that he didn't realise that Guy Gardner was full of it, which is why they had a massive bromance.
Daw, Kilowog's still a softie. He's tough on his recruits because he knows what's out there waiting for them. When he's not working, though, he's the nicest and sweetest giant pig alien out there.
