    I picked up...

    Action Comics #10
    Dial H #2
    Earth 2 #2
    Smallville #2
    World's Finest #2

I also got Minutemen #1. I flipped through it and the art looks pretty basic. Looks like it's stylized that way though, to pay homage to the kind of art we had decades ago.

Tony Daniels and David Finch would both be good JL artists. And drawing JL would keep them from "writing" Batman titles. Two birds, one stone.

Huh. I find Batman's comment in Action Comics about not wanting to waltz into other countries and impose order uninvited rather ironic. It's especially ironic considering who is writing this book.

Last time I read about it, it was coming out this summer, which of course isn't happening either. But I don't think it's been completely shelved, DC probably wanted to wait some time to establish its new prime universe, before showcasing any others.

Am I the only one that considers Tony Daniels an average at best artist? I don't get the praise. I can't believe he got picked for the Batman RIP story, or that he's writing and drawing his own Bat-title now.

^ You're not the only one. An average artist and a below average writer. Have no idea why he is on Detective.

Saw the Batman comment in Action...I was under the impression that meeting took place based on Barry's comments still early on in the Justice League's formation. So Bruce hadn't established Batman, Inc yet.

Maybe the same reason Liefeld is still working: he has dirt on those in power.

Yeah, I know that. The comment was just ironic considering that later on Batman will go and do exactly that.

^ Ah okay. Foreshadowing on Morrison's part. Morrison's ability to capture Geoff Johns's characterization of the early League was awesome lol.

^I kinda wish he hadn't captured Johns's characterization, considering it's god awful.

^ I agree with you...I'm sure he was tempted to give his own version of the League...but I guess he did it for the sake of continuity. It both annoyed me and made me smile at the same time lol.

Huh. I was under the impression that Action was jumping ahead to the time-frrame of the rest of the Nu52, but apparently is still set in the "T-shirt era". I just might pick up another arc of Action.

Yeah, apparently he's wearing the t-shirt in Metropolis, but the armor while with the league. It's kinda confusing.

    Dial H

I'll give 'em a read tomorrow. Liked the cover for "Action." I still think there's a massive disconnect between the cover art and the in-book art for "Dial H." Like I said for #1 on the cover our main character looks like your average, pudgy, Joe American. In the book itself he's much more obese, much less... "attractive" in facial features and, well, less "average" looking.

Yes, obviously. It's just a disconnect between what is proposed and what is actual. And this is a bit less just details in how a character looks and actually is a pretty massive difference and what the character actually is. It's like if Amanda Waller was still heavy-set on the cover of a book and then on the inside you see her as the skinny woman she now is. It's a pretty stark difference.

Action Comics #10: Remember that Clark bonds to the armor whenever he needs it now. He still wears the t-shirt and jeans. I really enjoyed this issue. I like the fact that Lois, Jimmy, and Clark are friends. Lana!!! I trust that Morrison is setting up more back story stuff so we can learn about what happened to Clark and Lana before. Interesting that he would attempt a version of The Death of Clark Kent so early on.

I'm still curious what an invulnerable man needs with armor. I guess it's so he's not naked in a fight with Darkseid?

That would probably help, yeah. Plus, at least at the time he initially acquires it he's not invulnerable - Clark still explains injuries that he receives as Superman as being the result of being beat up by goons who are trying to intimidate him as a reporter.

Yeah... forgot that... Maybe if it wasn't called armor, then maybe it wouldn't be so weird to me. Armor is something Batman needs.

Though it's also weird to me, he's still wearing the t-shirt in Metropolis, and then he puts it on to go meet the League, and then takes it off?
