Avatar Challenge: Britain

What definition of SF/F do you use? I've never heard of Batman being put in either category before

You might want to visit the SF/F forum at this board where discussions of Batman movies and comics are commonplace.

More to the point: He's a millionaire playboy with a car that (at least in the sixties) ran on atomic batteries. At various points in the character's history he's hung out with aliens, atlantean kings and amazon princesses. His arch nemesis is a guy who fell into a vat of toxic waste and, instead of dying, got white skin and green hair. Other enemies include a scientist who becomes a giant mutated bat, a man with a freeze ray and an immortal middle eastern terrorist. Furthermore, that same terrorist was in Nolan's first Batman film and probably in his last, which features another villain who takes a drug that gives him super-strength.

i thought it was pretty damn simple: no SF or F. i didn't expect it to cause this much aggro.

no, Tarzan is not allowed. in any way shape or form. and just to make it straight forward, neither are James Bond (laser satellites, invisible cars, what was i thinking?) or Robin Hood (legend, fantasy, same diff.)

of the others, the Sun's front page is not a character or a place. Churchill is not a character, even if it was an actor. Same with Dave Allen, not a character.

If your entry's not here, you're out. feel free to try again.

nope. real person and, you know, flagrantly too big.

Well, I'll concede the first point, although arguably, he and the other chaps on Top Gear play caricature of themselves and I don't see this as any different.

As for the size, the rules for Avatars states: The maximum size of your custom image is 150 by 150 pixels or 140.0 KB (whichever is smaller).

The image is 295x150 pixels and 129.9KB in file size so perfectly with in the rules.

Anyway, Bombardier is the superior Real Ale. Bang On!

The rules are "and," not "or." Upload that avatar to be your TrekBBS avatar and tell me how it looks.

The rules aren't and/or. Upload that avatar to be your TrekBBS avatar and tell me how it looks.

So the rules for this fun little competition that I have never entered nor paid much attention to are different from the rules that dictate what size an Avatar can be for a users profile?

I suspect you're thinking of. 'Help,' which-with cultists and a shrinking drug would most likely count as SFF.

HDN wasn't SFF but since the Beatles were playing themselves in it, I think the prohibition on real people should apply.
