Christian Bale gushes about the new Batman movie

Cover Media – 16 hours ago

Coming back for his final sequel in Batman’s rubber suit in The Dark Knight Rises, one of the year’s most highly anticipated movies, Christian Bale says it’s a bittersweet experience saying goodbye to the character. Bale is married to Sandra Blazic, a former model and makeup artist and the couple are raising their daughter Emmeline, 7, in Los Angeles. Bale actively supports Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund.

Q: How is it being in the most anticipated movie of the year? How much pressure is it for you?
CB: Well, I feel that as actors, we’ve done our work. The pressure is on Chris Nolan. But I have to say, I always approach every movie as if no one is ever going to see it, (laughs). It’s better because you don’t get self-conscious about it, and think about things like, ‘What are people going to think?’ I usually just go, ‘I don’t think anyone is going to see it, so do what you think is right and what you think is right for other people.’

Q: What was it like reading the script for the first time and what your initial impressions like? What was that like being immersed in this world again?
CB: I’m used to the process because you go to Chris’ house and you sit and read it. And I’m a phenomenally slow reader. And when you that you’ve got the one opportunity to read, I usually read and re-read and re-read, so he couldn’t believe it, I think. Chris kept walking in, thinking, is he asleep? (laughs) We started lunchtime, it got dark, and the family was having dinner. I was still in there with people coming and going, and I was still there (laughs). /Viva Press

Nolan's Son- What's that guy doing here?

Nolan- Oh he's just reading the "Dark Knight Rises" script. Eat your broccoli.

The problem with ScarJo as Black Widow (and I say this based on Iron Man 2, not having yet seen The Avengers) is that it’s very, very obvious that she doesn’t do her own stunts. In her action scenes in Iron Man 2, the cuts between the actress and the stunt double are jarring and unintentionally comic. That may be Favreau’s fault more than ScarJo’s. How does she fare in The Avengers?

^ Much, much better. Joss Whedon is not one to waste or mis-use hot, kick-ass female characters.

There's still a few times when you can tell it's not her in the action scenes and a stunt double.

The Hulk also got a stunt double too according to the credits... Not sure how that works.

I think Catwoman/Selina will provide alot more tongue in cheek moments/and more funny moments.

That should please some people who think Nolan's franchise is too serious

"This isn't a car"

"my wife?"

"Did you remember where you parked?"

"Takes a bit of time to get back into the swing of things"

That is what I am hoping for. I do like these Nolan Batman movies and I am looking forward to this last installment but I think he does need to sprinkle in some lighter moments from time to time.
