"Brinkmanship" description on Amazon

Hi Relayer1. I haven't thought of pitching that, no. Never say never, though.

As I said, a new direction seems to be required, which is why I thought of you.

TNES was a (really great) surprise - I didn't really fancy it. I have since read some more of your works and loved them too...

Thank you very much! I know TNES is a big ask, given that it contains so few recognisable characters from TV, so I appreciate you giving it a go. Glad you weren't disappointed!

TNES was one of the highlights of my comeback to reading Trek. It showed that there was so much more to Star Trek then the usual galaxy-spanning threats to all life. A beautifull 'small' story, not about how one person alters the universe, but how the universe can alter a person, change him/her to the core.

I mentioned this on the forum before, but when I finished TNES, I had to give it a little hug. I felt happy after finishing it.

The Never-Ending Sacrifice is definitely one of the best novels of recent years; I especially liked the Romulan character Rugal briefly allied with. If we never get another DS9-branded novel, as least the series went out on a high!

Thank you, toughlittleship! IIRC, that character was inspired by a similar one in the early 90s German film Stalingrad. I imagined the Cardassian-Romulan front as being very like the Eastern Front.

I remember being quite impressed with how the author was able to work in details from DS9 given that the series never mentioned how much time took place between episodes.

Thanks, Patrick O'Brien! Yes, it's a great film and I heartily recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it.

Thank you too, DS9forever! I had a great deal of innocent fun drawing up timelines and seeing where the gaps were so that I could exploit them.
