Star Trek and time travel

Story is that Gene Roddenberry always wanted to do a time travel story involving the Kennedy assassintaion but could never make it work.

On a sideline... were any of the passenger on the Titanic from that time period ? It seems to me that every television time traveller (Voyagers, Time Tunnell, etc) was on that ship !

I don't think any Starfleet went back that far, Spectrum of the Gun, and Fist Full of Datas don't count.

Time Tunnel on the Titanic was their pilot, or their first aired episode?

It's not so much that he couldn't make it work, it's just that everyone he told about it thought it was a bad idea.

In "Time's Arrow," they went back to 1893, which was nearly twenty years before the sinking of the Titanic.

Also Picard went back almost 4 billion years. Which is almost 4 billion years before the Titanic.
