A womanizer? Like he digs women a lot, checks them out, flirts, has lots of girlfriends, never at a loss to find some companionship? A ladies man? Well, shit, of course. That's part of the Kirk legend. I bristle when he's characterized as almost a male whore, an uncontrolable horndog. He doesn't get laid by a dozen green women every week, but he is absolutely a guy who loves the ladies. He's a 1960's TV leading man, the hero of the series and a bachelor. He also exploits his looks and charm to get missions accomplished and his crew out of danger when women are involved.

Nothing wrong with this, he's James Fricking Kirk.

Thanks, but I know the actual numbers. That's why I asked these questions in the first place. So much for my Socratic questioning. :p

Agreed, and thanks for linking to the previous thread.

This is all subjective. Here's Merriam-Webster's definition of the term:
    "intransitive verb
: to pursue casual sexual relationships with multiple women

    wom·an·iz·er noun"

By that definition, and based upon the onscreen (or even implied) evidence, I disagree w/ the OP. Very few of Kirk's relationships were sexual, and those that were, were not "casual."

    Yep, pretty much.

People try to dodge this with counting games. Some Trek fans choose to be preposterously literal-minded, ignoring story context, subtext, implication - all of which, of course, makes it kind of difficult to really appreciate storytelling at all or bring much to a discussion of fiction at all. When they see later writers or filmmakers use elements of TOS that they don't like, they're then appalled and insist that those elements were never there at all.

Kissing is a sexual act in my opinion, and he sure did a lot of kissing, I have to disagree with those who say 'he isn't', I say DUH, of course he is!

Of course he was a womanizer.

The REAL question is why do you ask that like it's a bad thing?

But that's just it, most of the time it wasn't a sexual act for him. His lips were his secret weapon.

He's a womanizer all of the way - and I love it. In fact, I always admired him for this trait.

If that's so, there are a lot of family reunions that have just become awkward for a lot of people. Kissing is not always a sexual act, and it can have different meanings across different cultures.

    He sure did!

Any family reunion attendees that kiss each other the way Kirk kisses all the women in TOS should definitely feel awkward :p

I agree there, but 22 Stars didn't specify what kind of kissing.

You have a very good point there. KIRK IS A WOMNAIZER!! Stop fooling yourselves! There is only one exception I can think of Plato's Stepchildren:Uhura. But also on the note of women pursuing him once more only one I can think of Miri! a 12(acyually 3,000) year old! There is no doubt in my mind that Kirk has an unnatural thing for a pretty face (Does anybody watch the 3rd season?) so Kirk is a womanizer

Some of you could be a touch less confrontational about it. It's not like he's Jesus. I don't think Kirk was a womanizer, some of you folks think he was, that's cool. No need to get all "in your face" about it.

    Sorry!!

Hey at least I mentioned exceptions! Proving that there were some women that he didn't pant over. I have one question for you J.Allen; Do you watch the 3rd season?

More like women used him. Ariel Shaw, etc. He didn't put up much of a fight but took it out making first contact and exporing and learning about strange alien women. The transporter made it easy to break up.
Of course Pike would have went on to have a harum of green animal women slaves which according to Boyce was every Starship Captain's dream. That plus going to business with the Orian Syndicate selling drugs?

    EVERYTHING HE DOES IS HOLY.

This is what happens in a godless universe. You have to look to man to fill the god hole inside of you. Thankfully we have the most awesome bad ass sex Jesus ever in Captain James T. Kirk.
