High Heels Are, Quite Literally, For Morons

^Hmm..not bad. But I've never been terribly fond of the over pointed toe. Reminds me of the Wicked Witch of the West, or whatever her name is. lol.

Wow. The The Master of Tarquin Hill must have the dullest life ever.
Seriously, OP, you're beginning to sound as if you think any woman who wears something more extravagant than a brown smock and mules is a superficial, idiotic dolt. Get off your judgemental, sexist high horse and lighten up.

Well said!

I guess I've always had a soft spot for girls in pointy shoes...

Rounded toes are fine, of course, but they do need a bit more height to balance out. For those in Louboutin, the higher 100mm height brings the whole shoe back into proportion. Whereas the pointy ones benefit visually from the lower height. An alternative would be the 85mm peep toes, but if you're going to wear them, make sure you have nice-looking toes. :p

(of course, keeping them looking nice - and not trod-upon - in peep toes would be harder still... :) )

Well put. Couldn't have said it better myself.

On an interesting sidenote, i wonder what he'd think of my girlfriend. Since she doesn't just wear high heels, but somehow also has both the audacity and the skill to ride a motorbike in high heels. Now if thats not the epitome of what he's against, I dunno what is.

Heels...that's something I would never torture myself with. My back is bad already--at a young age--so there is no way I am going to do something to make it worse.

I would never say high heels are for morons. That is an extremely rude thing to say. I do think that it would be better, though, if women--well, put their feet down, for a healthier fashion.

I was never a fan of the pointy tips on women's shoes either. Don't find it very appealing since I know feet don't look like that. Give me open-toed shoes so I can see pretty toes.

I recently posted a thread about ear rings. And, I must say, the majority of the comments reflected my personal view that they were unnecessary.

Moving on.

High heels are stupid. Stupid people wear high heels. Etc & so on.

Have you ever seen a young woman in a supermarket in high heels? Especially one that hasn't mastered this superficial skill?

Its like these women have never learned about foot binding.

I don't find high heels sexy. I see someone who is seriously in need of education about...a great many things.

Wow, some cause to fight for

I wear ear rings because I like that. I don't wear high heels because I don't like that. Other people's opinion about what I wear or what I don't wear is not something I care about.

I don't wear heels either. Just didn't occur to me when younger to get used to them, now too old and heavy to bother.

But I notice from the pics that what's being done is elongating the leg and providing a calf muscle that might not otherwise be visible. No wonder the few times I tried heels, they looked horrible! I already have a visible calf muscle. Heels made them look too big on such a short leg.

I've always thought high heels looked pretty silly and those photos aren't doing much to change my mind. Wearing shoes that limit your ability to walk properly and cause pain/health problems doesn't come across as sexy and powerful to me. More like the opposite really.

But hey, that's just my opinion. Unlike the TC I don't care what other people wear.

I love the look of heels. They're beautiful. I'm not sure that most women wear them to make their legs or butt look better.... I never did. Some wear them because we like them. They're just pretty... and buying them is sort of addictive.

However, I'm one of those who will buy a pair and never wear them, because I can't walk in them at all. If I'm going to be somewhere where I'm mostly sitting, I'll consider it. But if I have to stand or walk a lot... screw it, I'm gonna be comfortable.

Do you know how much societal conditioning us men had to do to get you women to think this way?

It is generally accepted that when our evolutionary ancestors started walking upright, the hips of the human female narrowed to promote ease of walking, causing a lengthening of the vaginal canal. Due the this, the human male penis became longer and larger, so that it would be adequate to satisfy the female, with the penis of the modern human male the largest in proportion to body size of any ape.

Alls I'm sayin is: the ladies have done some conditioning as well.

Or maybe: Remember where your dick comes from!

:D

Jesus. One thing is bloody certain, people will never accuse you of having any tact.

Or you of having a sense of humor, apparently!

That may well be. Because I'm not quite firing on all cylinders right now. I'm drinking off the week of hell.

Hehe, I can still spell. Lets try that again in an hour.

^Was this just a case of smilies not sufficiently expressing the light-hearted nature of my post? because I find being called tactless a bit harsh -- but I realize this form of communication does lend itself especially well to misinterpretation.

 I Love it!!! TSQ, will you be my friend?

As for myself, I avoid high heels like the plague. I enjoy comfort and being able to move quickly if the need arises. I also like pain free knees, calves and lower back. But to each their own!

I feel pretty much the same way. I don't really care what other people wear, but I don't really understand some of the things people wear or do when it comes to this sort of stuff. I don't wear makeup or put my hair up (or do anything to it besides brush out the tangles, really) or have my ears pierced or wear uncomfortable shoes or paint my nails, etc. I just think, what's the point? There is none. If other people see a point in it, that's fine for them. But I personally find such things an unnecessary expense.

I'd say the one time in recent memory that I was rather judgmental about this was with this woman who works in the same building as me. She is quite pregnant and every day wears some of the tallest heels I've ever seen, with a very small and pointy back. She looks so freaking uncomfortable when she walks (actually it's more of a waddle). I think she's stupid. And then her husband drives up with their unnecessarily gigantic raised SUV and I just roll my eyes.
