Isn't there a risk of infection if you get an ear pierced but don't wear anything in it?

Ziyal, tell me about it. I have irked more than on woman because of it. Like I said, not normal.![]()
Sorry, but you're saying that to the wrong woman. I don't paint my finger nails, rarely wear heels or makeup, shave my legs only in shorts/capris season, and had a career in a field that was 90% male when I started. Do I conform in many other ways? Of course. But, believe me, if I didn't love earrings, I wouldn't wear them.
I don't think much of tattoos either unless they're very classy indeed.
I agree completely. That's why I got a lower back tattoo of the Yeats' poem Peace with a flight of doves beneath it looking like they were taking wing from the crack of my ass. You know, classy.
I've been considering getting a tattoo for a few years, but haven't yet. I'm thinking a Starfleet arrowhead, but with a blue maple leaf as the symbol inside. Though anyone who recognizes what fandom the blue maple leaf would represent would understand why I'm so hesitant about it...![]()
As far as heels, I won't wear anything more than 1-1.5 in. My bad back and bad balance pretty much nix that idea--and I've had a bad back since my late teens, so I never got into heels.
My mom never pressured me into getting my ears pierced; we only discussed it when I expressed an interest, which was at about 14 years old.
Same applies to those wearing flats rather than heels, though personally, I'm all for ramping up the social convention pressure in a heels direction on that one!![]()

Holdfast, I challenge you to wear heels for a week and then say that again.![]()

Just wait until they win a cup to get it.
If you can!![]()
I've got my ears pierced five times, both lobes and my left cartilage. I don't wear my lobe earrings unless it's a special occasion, but I always have the one in my cartilage. Right now, it's a 4G and I plan on making it bigger.
I initially got a mental image of a 4G-capable cellphone being embedded in the piercing.
I don't understand
I am allergic to metal in earrings,l but I found a brand years ago called Simply Whispers that I can wear.I enjoy having pierced earrings and being able to look dressed up.
You can bet the Japanese are working on it.Not being terribly au fait with piercing lingo, I initially got a mental image of a 4G-capable cellphone being embedded in the piercing.
Probably will be reality this time next year.
I should nail my flag to the post here and say I think all piercings are gross. I don't think much of tattoos either unless they're very classy indeed.
