wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

I don't think Edge persuaded Vince and his team to strap Christian, it seems like it was more of a conclusion to an aborted storyline. (Christian would turn heel on Edge, or vice versa and they would then feud over the WHC)

The decision was made to put ADR on Raw and you have to imagine that this decision was made around the same time the decision was made to have Edge retain at Wrestlemania.

Of course, knowing WWE they probably would have had Christian feud with Brodus Clay while Edge continued his feud with ADR, with ADR eventually winning the belt and a tag team match occuring featuring Edge and Christian vs. ADR and Brodus Clay. Following this, it's possible that Christian and Edge would have their long awaited feud, but due to Edge retiring, we never found out.

That's always going to bum me out, too. An Edge-Christian WHC feud would have been pretty damn entertaining all around.

I haven't read this guy's stuff in a long while, but I read this, and although I still find him to be preachy and sometimes delusional, it's still worth pondering the notion that wrestling could disappear in twenty years due to a number of factors:

Thoughts?

Since I'm bored right now and have nothing better to do I'm going to give my predictions...oh and the 28 party my friend was going to host has been cancelled now due to him having to work on Sunday. I most likely won't be able to watch it now...I don't particularly feel like ordering something so expensive either. Here we go with the matches confirmed so far:

"Once in a Life Time"

John Cena Vs The Rock

Winner: The Rock

Frankly, I can't see John beating Dwayne in his home town. I have said before that I feel this match is going to have overtones of Hogan/Rock and be a passing of the torch match. I hope this is a clean match with no run ins either...but one never knows with the state of things right now. Cena winning means this feud could continue possibly but i doubt that since this has been marketed as a once in a life time match. Just like Rock/Hogan was. So my pick is the Rock. He will Rock Bottom and deliver the People's Elbow to John...and Cena will deliver a AA to him that he'll kick out of :) It is possible we could see John turn heel on Raw the next night due to this loss.

Triple H Vs The Undertaker (Hell in Cell, Special Guest Ref Shawn Michaels)

Winner: The Undertaker.

The streak goes to 20-0 and UT will finally reveal he is bald on Sunday. I have this feeling that it will resemble last year's match again and be brutal as possible...both men will draw blood, Shawn will try to interfere somehow and "abuse" his ref powers, not sure how but Undertaker will win. it is possible we could have Mark announce his retirement on Raw the next night. I really don't get the vibe from him that he wants to make one last run.

CM Punk (c) Vs Chris Jericho (WWE Championship Match)

Winner: CM Punk

The mark in me wants JeriTroll to win, but I'm also a Punk fan and have been very happy with his current title reign. This will be the best match of the night and borderline five star. Don't be surprise if we see a couple new moves from either men. I wouldn't be surprised if JeriTroll wins the title either. I fully expect Punk to retain. Miz did last year of course :)

Daniel Bryan (c) Vs Sheamus (World Heavyweight Championship Match)

Winner: Sheamus

The built up has been pretty obvious for me, and I've not been watching Smackdown, but I think face Sheamus takes this match. It will be a pretty good match as well...no doubt AJ will be involved somehow, maybe costing Bryan the win. Perhaps we'll get a run in from Big Show or someone else.

Cody Rhodes (c) Vs The Big Show (WWE Intercontinental Championship match)

Winner: Cody Rhodes

As much as I think it would interesting to see show as IC Champ (a title he hasn't held I don't think) I can't see Cody dropping the belt. Maybe Golddust interferes or something to cost his brother the title.

Randy Orton Vs Kane

Winner: Orton

I could care less about this match

Team Big Johnny Vs Team Teddy Long

Winner: As much as I loathe the thought...I think Big Johnny's team will win and John L will gain control of both shows. Perhaps this is where they will use Mick Foely finally on Raw where they'll announce a chance or something. I really don't like this match either.

Maria Menounous and Kelly Kelly Vs Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres (Divas tag Team match)

Winner: Beth and Eve

I think with Maria injured and having to perform in DWTS, Kelly Kelly will carry the match and this will cost them as Beth and Eve take advantage. Maybe Natalya will be involved or something...but Beth and Eve win.

So that's it. Who else is looking forward to the weekend?

Well shit me...

Still, there is no way that he will be wrestling. Definitely no chance of him and Steve Austin having a match, is there Admiral Young? ;)

But seriously, this is pretty big news and should Brock appear, there's the possibility that it will be at the end of the Hell in a Cell match, where the wheels are put in motion for the much anticipated Lesnar/Undertaker match.

Nah, having Brock interfere in the HIAC match will just be overkill when there are three massive names involved in the match anyway. I think that if he is going to appear to start some kind of angle, it will be following the HIAC where Brock will have some kind of staredown with Undertaker.

Of course, if Taker only plans to perform at Wrestlemania from now on, they could have Brock come out and "injure" Undertaker, putting him out until a month prior to Wrestlemania XXVIX and thereby explaining his absence from the company.

ETA: Or even better (worse), they could overbook it massively and put Dusty Rhodes and Vince Russo in charge of booking the match. Towards the end, The Kliq (with Ric Flair who ends up managing Triple H) team up on Taker becaue they are real life buddies (Russo reality element), then Brock runs out for no reason and pummels Taker before an entire squad of referees come out and DQ Triple H, despite the match being no-DQ (Dusty booking).

Then Foley's music hits and he comes out looking pissed at Triple H, only to put the Mankind mask on and attack Taker (in reference to their 1996-1998 feud). But then "Real American" hits and Hogan marches to the ring and it looks like he's there to make the save, but then he drops the leg on Taker and reveals that it was a setup all along. All six men then put on NWO shirts and crotch-chop the fallen Undertaker.

I mention about the possible early April Fool's joke since there is a report that Vicky Guerrro is saying that Mark and Michelle are expecting their first child. Nothing has been confirmed yet and I haven't seen this wide spread yet at all. So Admiral M I'd be interested in your predictions? Also don't tease me about nWo stuff ;)

I read a story that Miz is said to have been intoxicated Monday night and there were plans for him to interrupt the Rock and Cena's promo but this was scratched. This hasn't been confirmed at all. Mike is coming off the rails if this is true.

I think team teddy will win because the Miz is on john l.'s team. he's on such a losing team

as for Brock maybe he'll be hosting the show and they set up the stone cold steve austin match for next years wrestle mania. I would love to see wrestle mania here in dallas. I mean we got that new awesome stadium which would be perfect for it.

Wrestlemania XXVIII Predictions

John Cena vs. The Rock: I think that Cena is walking out of this one as the winner, although something could occur that could taint the conclusion of the match since WWE seem keen on continuing this feud. Of course, there is a great chance for WWE to turn Cena since he'll recieve the most negative reaction of the evening (and perhaps the entire year!)

Randy Orton vs. Kane:
Don't particulary care about this one since it's pure filler and done to get Orton a spot on the card. Naturally, Orton is walking away the winner in this match.

CM Punk (C) vs. Chris Jericho:
This could really go either way because there are strong reasons for both men to be WWE Champion. It would probably work better to have Punk as the chasing former champion who lost his title because he left himself be taken in by Jericho's mind games - so for that reason I'm predicting that Jericho will walk out as champion.

Triple H vs. Undertaker:
This is probably the match I'm looking forward to most, despite the fact that it's easy to predict the outcome. Undertaker will go 20-0 after an extremely good match containing lots of drama.

Team Long vs. Team Laurinaitis:
The obvious and most satisfying result is to have Team Laurinaitis walk out victorious - thus giving John Laurinaitis total control over both shows. However, it's not exactly uncommon for WWE to pull swerves just when you think that something is a dead cert. They could always sort it all out later, but I'm going to predict that Johnny's Aces (get it? ;) ) are walking out victorious.

Maria Menounouououououououous and Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres: Shouldn't it be Natalya teaming up with Beth Phoenix, given that they are a team? I think that Menounouououououous will be getting the victory a'la Snookie last year.

Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan (C):
This match could be really good, but it could also be dreadful given that WWE has shown a trend for quick "feel good" victories in which the face (or face team) win very quickly and decisively. I think Sheamus will get the pinfall and walk out as the new World Heavyweight Champion. Let's just hope WWE doesn't book a bell ring/Brouge Kick/pinfall match.

Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes (C):
Am I the only one who thinks this feud is pointless? Don't get me wrong, both deserve a spot on the card (Cody in particular), but surely WWE could have come up with better opponents for them. I don't think WWE can resist being able to call Big Show "the only man to capture every championship available to him in WWE history" (although Big Show could have competed for the European Championship - although WWE will ignore this) so I think that Show will capture the gold.

Hunico and Epico (C) vs. Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel:
This will probably be a dark match, although it's possible that such a match could find it's way onto the card, especially if WWE cuts short a couple of the other billed matches for whatever reason, nonetheless - the champs will retain.

I'll be completely shocked if Rock/Cena ends cleanly for either man. I foresee the Rock winning by questionable but not completely OTT means in front of his home crowd only to have Vince come out and have the match continue for some reason "because it's good for business". To remain a face, Cena will then say he'll have none of that and Rock beat him fair and square. Vince will then taste each man's finishers and the IWC will wonder why they keep watching. :)

If anyone "authority figure" wise appears during the match it will either be Triple H or John L. I doubt we'll see Vince. There are indeed continuing reports that Brock is in Miami, I am very wary since it is April Fool's also tomorrow.

Looks like Punk/Jericho is first up on the docket. Cena/Rock is the actual main event and slated last. Maria is questionable now apparently. The HOF ceremony will air before Raw Monday, and the Miz is scheduled to continue his feud with R-Truth in the coming weeks.

Is it a massive failure on the WWE's part that I, as a 25-year-fan of their product, could care less about the Cena/rock match which they built up for a whole year and actually more psyched to learn that Brock Lesnar is gonna show up?

It's an abysmal failure. You're right.

It's been more like 20 years for me. I became a fan some time before WrestleMania VIII. But the last time the WWE did a really good job to make me care about a WM main event was probably either XX or 21, and the latter because I wanted to see JBL lose more than I wanted John Cena to win. If the Rock/Cena match ends with either a victory for The Rock (clean or not, I don't care which), or a Cena win resulting from a heel turn that recalls Stone Cold Steve Austin from WM X-Seven (only without Mr. McMahon being involved).... that would be fine by me. They're out of ideas these days, anyway, so they might as well rehash old material.

Oh, one more thing. If Triple H books himself to win against the Undertaker, thus denying the Dead Man his rightful 20-0 WM record, that'd be another way for the WWE to make me care about this WM.... just for all the WRONG reasons! :censored:

Even the markiest of marks knows that Vince owns WWE and we all know he loves the spotlight so why not show up at the biggest event of the year "to protect the business" and take some bumps? We've heard he's apparently not in physical condition to work a full schedule taking bumps weekly (also apparently the reason for Mr. Excitement's push) but one-time for WrestleMania? I could see it happening.

I can't say I'm especially interested in more then 2 or 3 matches on the card (Sheamus/Bryan--I can't believe I'm a mark for Bryan, Jericho/Punk, and Rock/Cena), but I hope this PPV pleasantly surprises all of us.

To have surprises they would have to go against their safe and predictable booking which they've done pretty much over the course of the last 8 to 10 months now. Money in the Bank was the only thing that really captured people's imagination because WWE was really playing up Punk's contract status. The only other time I can remember someone else's contract status even remotely breaking kayfabe was Bret Hart in his last couple of years in the WWE. I don't think anything shocking is gonig to happen tonight. Why? Because nothing shocking has happened since MITB IMO.

My general opinion of 28? On paper it is a monster card. Triple main event. Three superstars from the Attitude Era back and all working, plus HBK in his first event back in two years, a Hell in a Cell match for the streak!!! You got arguably one of the most popular WWE Champions' in recent history going up against one of the all time most popular superstars! You got Cena/Punk as well. The thing that irks me is the execution of the booking. I'll be interested to see the results and all of your reactions tonight or tomorrow because as I've stated from the start I'm just not feeling it. WWE has stated there will be a couple of surprises tonight, but unless we get a Brock run in or something or Batista returns and does the same thing, then I'm not expecting much at all and have been a meh! I'm a tinsy more excited than I have been...but not by much and still only interested in the Best in the World match!

So it starts soon, but nevertheless here's my predictions. And it's hard to get fucking excited about Wrestlemania really. After the tedious exercise in treading water that was Elimination Chamber, we now have a card that's even more predictable. For the show of shows, I'm as unexcited for this as for any PPV we've had this the past year. It doesn't help that immediately following a good stretch from MITB on, we've then been hit by a rubbish succession since TLC. Of course, this is me viewing Mania in the context of someone who's been watching continuously. Maybe for the people who only give this one a look in...nope, actually it's shite for them too. But let's have a look...

Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos vs Beth Phoenix and Eve Torres
Who I want to win: the team with Beth on
Who I think will win: the team with the celebrity on
I'm bewildered by who this match is aimed at. I've not even heard of Maria Noun, but assuming she's someone known, are people who have heard of her going to buy WM when they wouldn't have otherwise? If yes then fucking idiots, if no then don't show this shite.

Team Teddy vs Team Johnny
Who I want to win: Team Johnny
Who I think will win: Team Johnny
Aside from watching Teddy Long doing that arseholing around he does as a dance, making tag matches and putting heels into matches they wouldn't want and having Aksana make willy innuendoes at him all while he calls everyone "player/a" being more embarrassing than ever and John Laurinaitis being the second coming of Christ, the story should be in the combatants. Team Johnny might be captained by Otunga, but Drew aside the others are all former world champs. Meanwhile Teddy has the comediest fool of the comedy fools, the second comediest fool, the commentary fool and...well, fools. Team Johnny not winning would be the stupidest thing ever. The real shame is that so much talent is being used up in this match (unless it goes on for an hour, which it won't). Still, Johnny Ace running the whole show may be worth it.

Randy Orton vs Kane
Who I want to win: Kane
Who I think will win: Orton
Perhaps the most predictable of all. Poor Kane. Returns remasked only to lose his feud to Cena and then get put against the other unbeatable superman. People say Cena could only have won that feud, being as he had The Rock around the corner (though I thought a genuine and rare loss could have given Cena some self-doubt and introspection that could have played into the Rock feud in a different way), but with Orton no doubt needing placating having been away from a world belt for so long, a win at Wrestlemania against Kane feels inevitable. What we effectively have here is my favourite wrestler (well, it's a difficult pick between Kane, Ziggler and Christian, but y'know) against my least favourite wrestler (no contest there) and my favourite has very little chance.

Cody Rhodes vs Big Show
Who I want to win: Cody
Who I think will win: Fat Show
Finally, that useless boring lump Big Show is depushed away from the world title picture. On the downside, a loss for the still up-and-coming Rhodes seems inevitable here, considering the nature of the build up. Whatever happens though, the Big Show won't be blighting the main event again for some time.

Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus
Who I want to win: Daniel Bryan
Who I think will win: Sheamus
No, actually, this is the most predictable match of all. I like Daniel Bryan, but this continued cowardly unworthy heel act never puts anyone over really, does it? Christian and ADR suffered similar last year, and in the case of all three men they're great wrestlers who deserve better. Sheamus is awful. Grinning and saying "Yer an urse!" is all it takes to be a face these days is it? He's got a decent moveset but is completely anti-pacing in peformance; kicking out at 1 all the time, absorbing all punishment and winning with one kick. He's far worse than Cena, and unless he sorts himself into a more rounded competitor, I've no desire to see him with a world title. But then, if I was writing this shite, Kane and Orton would be teaming in a TLC tag match and the main event would be Dolph Ziggler vs Chris Jericho.

CM Punk vs Chris Jericho
Who I want to win: Jericho
Who I think will win: Punk
I hate Punk. A decent wrestler to be sure, but having someone with the character of Bart Simpson holding the belt is shit. Is he neutered like people say? Seems it. I loved him as much as anyone back during Money in the Bank, but the Raw following the walkout when he came out with his "Yippee, Triple H is letting me commentate!" ruined the whole vibe and his character's never recovered since. Jericho's great. This is the most unpredictable match on the card, but that's not really saying much. Punk will likely retain and Jericho will go off with Fozzy again. Still, from a wrestling point of view, this has the most potential to deliver on the card.

Triple H vs Undertaker
Who I want to win: Undertaker
Who I think will win: Undertaker
Undertaker isn't all that, but Triple H is the worst thing to happen to wrestling ever. At least it's a HiaC. They can both do hardcore passably (wouldn't some blading be nice), but whether they'll be allowed to is another thing. There's no real chance of Undertaker losing unless Levesque really wants force himself upon the history of the "sport" further. I just hope Michaels isn't involved in the decision. Ultimately, there was so much more potential for someone else to challenge the streak but instead we have to put up with this. The most interesting thing will be seeing what they do about the Undertaker's baldness.

John Cena vs The Rock
Who I want to win: Cena
Who I think will win: Cena
The once in a lifetime one then. And let's hope so, because beyond keeping Cena away from the title, I've got zero out of it. There's few people I'd support Cena against these days, but The Rock could have me chanting "Let's go Cena!" all day long. Cena isn't a bad wrestler, contrary to every supposed smark's illiterate comments on youtube vids of the attitude era saying "dis waz wrestling cena SUX" and so forth. No, the main reason (for me at least) not to like Cena is that he holds the belt so fucking much. But you know what? Even back in the supposed glory days, it was just the same with Austin and the Rock. And they were much worse wrestlers with the characters of absolute see werds. And now the Rock's back, so every rose-tinted twit thinks he'll win and strike a blow for the good old days against the PG era by beating Cena. Well he certainly shouldn't and he probably won't. Firstly because (thankfully) he won't be around and so would only have turned up to damage Cena and leave, and secondly for the same reason it was right for Rock to beat Hogan, as a passing of the torch. Whatever your views on them as wrestlers and characters (and I'm no huge Cena fan just because I prefer him to The Rock), it's right for the company and for the history of the..."sport". But whatever else, as with the Taker/Cripple H match, at least we won't have to be subjected to the build up taking up most of Raw any more.

I called it...

What a fucking waste of time and a massive disappointment to any fans of Daniel Bryan and Sheamus who were looking forward to a good match.
