If instead of Obama somebody more black would had run...

I would like know what the OP actually means more black?

btw, Idris Elba is one fine looking English black man.

"More black." Gee, that's not offensive or anything.

Is this what you consider the "civilized conversation" you were asking for in another thread?

If a bowl of cheese ran as a Democrat in 2008, it would've won.
It was actually a close election.

No. It wasn't.

7.3% popular vote margin. 10 million votes separating Obama and McCain. Obama won almost seventy percent of the electoral college. It was a victory on par with both of Bill Clinton's in the nineties and almost as big as Bush the Elder's in 1988.

By your definition of close, Michael Dukakis had a chance at the end. He didn't, and 2008 wasn't all that much closer.

If instead of the OP's question a slightly less stupid question had been asked...

Like Forrest Gump high-functioning stupid...

Would I have still mocked this absurd thread?

I'm really glad you're bringing your brand of hard-hitting insightful political discussion to Miscellaneous and out of the pit of despair that is TNZ. Those clowns can't handle this kind of serious discussion.

But you really should have used "Like Wesley Snipes black" as an example, since he's actually American, unlike Elba. He was only convicted of misdemeanor offenses, so he's still eligible to run, and his strong opposition to taxes is a matter of public record. Plus, his stances against terrorists and vampires are unquestionable. There hasn't been a stronger anti-vampire president since Lincoln.

it wasn't exactly close, but it wasn't exactly a rout either, sort of in-between, on par with those elections you mention. It was tied as late as Sept., so it is odd to have someone imply that it didn't matter who the Democrats nominated. It wasn't exactly like 1932 or 1964 or something. Had they nominated a lousy candidate they'd have lost.

Now rank them on a scale of overall blackness and blacktitude. 1 being Sheriff Andy Taylor, and 10 being Shaft.

I'm not touching that one with a ten-foot pimp cane made from solid Dolemite.
