If you've read Star Trek Vanguard - Harbinger, is it possible to recreate the USS Bombay battlescene in the Foundry? Especially the bridge events. Thanks.

Epic fail on the STF front last night... 3 Cure Elite failures, and 1 KA Elite failure. The only EDC I got was from a Need/Greed loot drop. So frustrating - felt like such a waste of my time!! Will be trying Cure again tonight, probably around 8pm EST.

ohh owch...

i ended up doing a few this morning, nothing major, picked up 4 EDC's though, but no salvage sadly...

on the up side, i redid the Breen 'trilogy' mission set 3 times between the STF's and amassed over 1,200,000 EC's from selling the complete Absolute Zero set three times lmao

M

oh and slight cheers here... thanks to the Vulcan exchange program thingie, i've finally managed to drop the last of my 'uncommon' Duty Officers... strictly blues and purples filling out my 72 Duty Officer slots now :D

Hmm.... I'll have to try that Breen idea. :techman: I've been looking for a good way to make some extra EC's, aside from waiting for the Tour the Galaxy event, which never seems to be on when I'm online.

well the breen absolute zero set sells for 100,000 a piece... three pieces are pretty easy to get, it's just the middle mission with the puzzles and flying around the sector that takes time... i'd average it out at around 90 mins work for the three pieces, 300,000 for them, add another 100,000 or so for all the various drops you'll find around while doing them, and you can pull an easy 400,000 to 500,000 for 90 mins work...

That's the quickest way i've found of making EC's aside from DOFF missions... i'm close to 10,000,000 now, probably aiming to hit 20,000,000 by the weekend if things go according to plan :D

Eh, I make more off just scalping things on the exchange. I've got a list of 4-5 items that are expensive sellers, and then just hunt for ones that are under-priced and relist them for higher. I flip the high-end AP weapons, the expensive ship weapon consoles, the shield sci console, a few others. every now and then, people list them for what the 'value' is, rather than what they are selling for, so it's an easy 100k markup at least.

And BoP, failed the KA Elite mission? Must have been a pretty epic shitty PUG! Easy to not get the optional if your group sucks, but takes effort to fail the main mission by letting 10+ probes through. 2 people can make sure you at least pass, while the other 3 fiddle-fuck around with trying to blow the gates. takes a while, but you won't fail. I need the MK XII from that mission, so keep trying it, and I always take the probe duty. kinda boring, but puts me in control, knowing that at least we won't fail because someone's a 'tard.

i keep trying to get my head around the exchange thing but haven't quite mastered it yet...

i tend to sell the big things there, like master keys and stuff, but haven't bothered looking into actually selling anything else there...

From the hints that were given in the interview...
- At least 2 ship models will be refits. Sovereign and Akira??
- One ship model *might* somehow be related to Star Trek: First Contact. Sovereign OR Akira? Playable Borg Sphere?? Vulcan Survey Ship??? Phoenix T5 Refit????
- One ship model will likely be a non-Starfleet carrier from a "Federation member race". Caitian Carrier?
- Apparently he has not been given the green light to start modeling the Vesta. Don't care, but others willbe heartbroken
- Chances of seeing the Ambassador will be very low. (based on his forum posts) About as expected as dumb.

Interpreted that a bit.

Yes but you see the Ambassador isan't as cool as the Excelsior and we all knows thats what really matters

You know the one thing that suprises me how people on STO's forums go on about the Excelsior being a popular ship when I know everyone hated it whne it fist showed up.

I sell most excess items that the DOFF assignments give me and it provides my characters with a moderate cash flow.

I started the Caitian refugee assignment the other day. I need to check the results of that.

========

IMHO, it was mainly the younger crowd booing at the Excelsior. You know the ones that grew up watching TNG with the Galaxy class.

.

most of the DOFF stuff i get through tends to be contraband from security assignments, the occasional DOFF from diplomacy or development, or other odds and sods, nothing really worth a lot of money...

saying that, i did just claim my Orion Bridge Officer, could have sold her for 13,000,000 upwards, but wanted her for myself lol

Ok, I'm trying this now, and I've noticed that the pieces of the absolute zero set are bind on pickup. How can you sell them on the exchange when they are bound to you?

I'm just curious what's the history between Cryptic devs and science officers?

I really love my science officer and she contributes a lot in ground combat, but it seems like science officers barely have any role to play in space missions. In fact several players have out right blamed my science character on several STFs for not having enough dps to complete optionals in time. The only redeeming skill is gravity well, which is a god-send in cure space, but its a skill all characters can use.

I don't know the answer to your question. However, all my away teams have a science officer. Usually has 2 healing skills and 2 AOE offensive skills.

In Space combat, my science officer tries to drain the enemy's power and/or shields. Can be weak in combat without a Tac or Engr ally to supply the DPS. My KDF sci is effective against large ships. She's able to drain their power pretty fast and they become a sitting duck with no energy weapons or shields.

I agree, I think STO needs to be lifted one level.

BOP - try selling to a vendor.

The reason your sci doesn't find any love in STF is because those missions are mostly a DPS race and hardly anything is needed.
Even more so now that the Birg have been nerfed again and can't generate criticals anymore.
So people are even less likely to die.
You need to find your niche in STFs. Something that really helps in taking things down faster.
I found mine with aggro tanking. I put out barely enough DPS, but I make things shoot at me, which most capable players should recognize.

I hadn't checked the calendar lately. Thanks for bringing us up to date. The big news is the NEW LOCK BOX!!! Looks like they padded the calendar to kind of hide it from obvious view. ;-)

All kidding aside, I'm curious to see what Q's up to. Hopefully it starts early as I get to leave work early today.
