Official version of the trailer is up

I love Karen's terrible American accent, and Browder's "Anyone who isn't American drop your gun."

Loving the notion of the Doctor as the sheriff as well.

Skaro (maybe) looks interesting.

The bit they filmed on the coast where they filmed the Angels 2 parter looks too familiar...although I guess it could be the same planet?

Apparently in the press release for the new companion, Moffat said that in Rory and Amy's last episode they meet their end at the hands of the weeping angels. So. Yeah.

Where's all this talk of Skaro coming from? In order for it to be Skaro Moffat would need to undo the Time War.

Meanwhile, I wonder how many folks will think that a) that's River Song in the saloon (it isn't - though I had to freeze frame to be sure) and b) the Doctor is making to smoke something cowboy-style after his "Christmas list" comment?

A the end of "Victory Of The Daleks" the new Daleks are heading for Skaro. And the officialy canon Adventure Game "City Of The Daleks" was partially set there too.

I thought it was funny getting a clear look at what David Bradley was doing in those clips after seeing various people getting excited at the idea that he was playing the First Doctor based on the bootleg version.

Yeah, no offence to Alex Kingston but she's clearly a lot younger. I wouldn't put it past them to have included that shot purely because of the passing resemblance though!

yeah but apparently Amy and Rory's last episode will will be set in
New York
.

I phrased it badly, what I meant was that the location looked too familiar from us having seen it befreo.

It's like that theory of paralel evolution from Star Trek TOS. The DW Universe just happens to be full of places that look like Bad Wolf Bay or the Temple Of Peace. ;)

Also, Skaro was blown up (in the far future) in the Classic Series story Remembrance of the Daleks, not off-screen during the Time War. So, unlike Gallifrey, it's not Time-Locked.

Can't wait, looking great. I've never been big on Westerns though, I wish that they'd have shown more of the other episodes in the series. I guess that they intentionally showed the western stuff to excite the American market though. Cana nyone screen grab the mech things?

And enough of the cartoon gunshots already! :p

Wasn't it blown up in 1963 when Remembrace took place? Still since the Daleks could manipulate time so I imagine Skaro was resurected (maybe a few times) . We have no canon that says that Skaro is time locked, the Timelords could have laid waste to it then the new Daleks went back there to re-populate the planet.

I think they showed a lot of the Western ep because that's the one they've done a lot of filming for so far. There probably isn't a huge amount of footage for the series so far...

Yea, I've gotten the impression the Tiem War was a series of shots back and forth between the Daleks and the Time Lords. Time Lords do the events of Genesis of the Daleks via the Doctor, Daleks, do something to mess up Rassilon's time period, Timelords strike back with.... So, really, without Skaro being Time Locked in all times, or otherwise removed from time, there's no end to how things may have changed if the writers so choose.

No - we know it exists in the future (Masterplan is set in something like the year 4000) and one of the Daleks on the Imperial Dalek ship says "Hand of Omega now entering Skaro time-zone" when it's used.

New new new new new new new new new new new Skaro.

Trailer is interesting but again they can't help but ruin historical events with silly monsters.

I'll be glad when Amy and Rory go, the Doctor regenerates and Moffat moves on. Really don't like the current era. Hopefully the new companion has a better dynamic.

Glad the Daleks are coming back. At least there'll be one episode I'll watch this season.

Because RTD, JNT, or any one of countless other show runners wouldn't 'ruin' historical events with silly monsters, would they?

They all would. My gripe with the current era is placed on the hands of the current producer and cast.

My gripe with historicals is universal.

Shame if you don't like the show runner, or any of the Tardis crew right now, but eventually you'll get your wish (I just hope Smith sticks around a while longer personally)
