I don't want to be the one to say this, but if you're having troubles with your boyfriend, should you really be discussing it with any amount of detail with about a half dozen possibly horny, nerdy strangers over the internet?

I'd go with the option of talking to him, to discuss any issues you might have with each other. You've mentioned he's an Aussie whilst countries like Australia, the US, UK etc.. might be similiar in many respects not everything is always exactly the same. So he might be doing something sub-consciously that you dislike. So some of it might be down to cultural differences.

Still doesn't excuse him standing you up.
