Is there a scheduled publication month yet? I just checked and it's not available for preorder on Amazon yet -- or at least I couldn't find it. I fully intend to order me one as soon as possible. It looks awesome.

Tentative publication month is October, but the fall schedule hasn't yet been locked down. As for when it goes on sale, that probably won't be until Tor's fall/winter catalog comes out, which I gather might be in April or so.

That cover does look amazing. I'm not sure I want to buy the book in hardback, since I don't feel the cost is justified, but I'll definitely be picking it up in mass market. However, that said, if my new job continues to go well, and gets made permanent, then I may have extra money lying around and I will get it in hardback.

I can't wait to read it.

^Well, I get more royalties if you buy it in hardcover, so I think it's justified... ;)

That's a really kick-ass cover. Okay, never judge a book by its cover and all that ... but a lot of people who don't already know about the book or writer are definitely going to pick it up when they see it.

That's certainly what one wants in a cover.

And it's a great blurb by Anderson; not just "THIS IS AWESOME" but really descriptive. I'd be interested, certainly, even if I had no idea who you were.

Oh, yeah. I never would've thought a single image could convey so much information about what's going on inside the book.

A guaranteed sale is a guaranteed sale.

I have recently bought KRAD's two Precinct books and his SCPD novel, and I also intend to buy Dayton's The Last World War books as soon as I get paid next. A sale is a sale, isn't that a Ferengi Rule of Acquisition or something?

Rule #2: The best deal is the one that brings the most profit. (The 34th Rule)

Rule #242: More is good... all is better. (The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition)

(Although you could counter in turn with Rule #3: "Never spend more for an acquisition than you have to," from "The Maquis, Part II.") ;)

I can guarantee that the library that I work at will be getting a copy, and I am pretty sure at least one other in my area will as well.

Looks like Only Superhuman is starting to show up online. A book database called Risingshadow.net has posted the cover blurb for the novel (though it may be tweaked a bit before publication):

That cover copy is courtesy of our own Greg Cox, and I think he did a really nice job summing it up.

And we’re starting to see some pre-order links showing up too! I think there are rules about posting direct links to purchasing sites on this BBS, so I'll just link to the blog version of this post, where you can find the ordering links; or you can click on the ordering links on the Risingshadow page.

ONLY SUPERHUMAN now available for pre-order! (from my blog)

Both the big vendors have the book at a considerable discount, currently marked down to $14.50 from the list price of $24.99, but don’t worry — my royalties are based on the list price, so I still earn the same amount even when you pay less (as long as you buy it new rather than used).

So far only the hardcover edition is available for pre-order, but I’m told there will be an e-book version released the same day as the hardcover.
