All those millions and they ended up with a set that look less natural than an underfunded movie from 1979???

Not sure what you mean. Sets look pretty good to me.

They're just publicity stills, aren't they? It's likely that the sets look very different in motion, complete with atmospheric lighting, smoke effects, and the like.

But that last image, I don't know, seems photoshopy to me.

There's also a couple of Space Jockey's (or Space Jockey suits) standing behind her, there. ;)

There's certainly no shortage of characters staring in awe at something in this movie. :)

I'm actually surprised it's not a 4chan meme by now.

The space jockey in the original film was much bigger than that.

There may be some forced perspective at play here.

The original was pretty inexpensive, a lot of the production design seemed cobbled together including the space suits on the Nostromo, etc. I think this movie has a really good look to it...Ridley didn't take it off the deep end like many copycats, and later ALien sequels.

I still don't know how I feel about the suits. The one in that production still looks overly colorful and cheesy for a movie of this type.

Yeah, I have to agree. They almost look kinda cartoony to me.

Yeah I don't image them as something pre Alien which had much bulkier realistic suits.

You mean they're not? I saw the woman and my first thought was that it was a screenshot from a video game.
