I was wondering, what a future Star Trek series would be like if the writers and producers at paramount decided to go ahead and continue the line of shows from the original series continuity..
One such idea and hope of mine was that from the ashes of the late STE series was a show developed around the missions of a new crew, and future based on the Enterprise J shown to Archer by the time traveling agent known as Daniels..
From what we know there is a great battle against the transdimensional beings some 400 years into the future, and with there being so little known about that future, why not advance it even more?
With there being a temporal cold war that sometimes reaches the future, maybe we could even find out who the villain was who was sending messages to the suliban in Archer's time..
I am not suggesting I have the story written up or anything, but just wanting to hear what other STE fans think of the idea? I mean TNG went into unexplored space in some areas, and voyager was caught in the Delta Quadrant, but what about a new series focusing on aspects of the Enterprise storylines, and some left standing in the TOS series as well..
I mean Spock, and Kirk could have had children from the Classic series who end up in the new show as well..maybe even an archer descendent..or a Riker descendent..
maybe Daniels or some other time organization pulls a child from the Tundra ice age on Sarpeidon where Spock had an unknown child with Zarabeth from "all our yesterdays"
Or Kirk could have had an unknown child out there as well from the queen of the people from Scalos in the episode "wink of an eye"
(I picked those scenarios because those were explicitly implied instances where spock and kirk could've copulated and spawned an illegitimate child..)
Or we could just go with an entirely different crew with no relation to past characters like in the TNG series..
anyhow, I think that the Enterprise J as depicted in art and the ENT series was amazing looking, and I would love to see a series developed around the premise of that ship being sent into very deep space to explore, and run into outrageous beings like the classic TOS series had..
maybe even a drop by guest star by another "Q" character..
I know Paramount doesn't want to dilute the star trek brand by producing a new show while a movie is out, but Enterprise did lay a foundation for a potential series, which I find very intriguing...
What say you? I'd love to hear what ya'lls thoughts are..
