That's what kills me about this movie. They had so many oppertunities to bring about changes to Star Trek and yet they turn it into an episode where nothing changes. They could have given Geordi's eyes back for good and they could have had the Baku give the Federation their planet which would provide them an instrumental tool in helping to defeat the Dominion. Insurrection could have been an important movie for Star Trek that actually affected the lore instead of just adding +1 to the number of movies.I do wonder what exactly happen to Geordi's sight. Geordi was born blind due to a birth defect, the effects of the rings "cured" the problem. So what happen? Did he have Doctor Crusher deliberately reblind him as some kind of political statement?"You know, I've never actually seen a sunrise. Not the way you see it..."
