Just posted a gentle reminder on Doug's blog that Mike and Denise worked on TOS-R, so it would pay to be kind.
Not if the point is to preserve the original show, warts and all, no.and bring on the phasers firing from the photon torpedo tube.
Nuh uh. That's one thing that they damn well better change. Isn't it a good thing to fix obvious errors?
If that was the point then they wouldn't be doing this at all.Not if the point is to preserve the original show, warts and all, no.and bring on the phasers firing from the photon torpedo tube.

The point is TNG in HD.If that was the point then they wouldn't be doing this at all.
"They" wouldn't be making any mistakes. The mistake was made twenty years ago and the shot is already a part of the show.So you want them to make mistakes on purpose?
I'm open to all those BoBW kitbashes. TNG could use the variety. How open to the Challenger/New Orleans classes would everyone be? the other Galaxy kitbash ships scaled down and made a little more unique?
Some of the ship flyby shots looked fantastic and fit the look of the show. On the other hand, IMO, the shots the FX team seemed the most enthusiastic to praise were the ones I liked the least. The FX in "Galileo Seven," in particular the shuttlebay launch scene, looked horrible, much worse even than the original shot, like something out of a video game.I think the "pulling you out of the show" comment was regarding the various too-modern CGI shots of the ship flying in space and such. It did look out of place at times when it didn't adhere to the original shot.

I would totally be in favor of just letting them go crazy and add CGI wrecks all over the place during the BOBW II (and Unification II) graveyard scenes.![]()
