The odds.

The ridiculous odds that all that happened to her week after week and she was lilly white non complicit with the THOUSANDS of corpses just throwing themselves at her.

The impossible odds.

I always wondered why anyone would want to live in or visit Cabot Cove. The murder rate was off the charts in that little town. I'd say Jessica must have had something to do with it.

And whenever and wherever she travelled outside of Cabot Cove someone always turned up dead, too. And she always managed to pin it on someone else. Diabolical!

So, in a way, she's like Batman. Her very presences breeds more crime as criminals desperately have to up their game in order to beat the authorities.

I always thought it would have been a great way to end the series. Really.

Just except for those episodes where the murderer confessed, which if I recall was almost every one. If they'd all been dragged away kicking and screaming about how they were innocent, it could have worked.

She seduced them into taking the rap.

8 minutes in heaven with Jessica is surely worth 15 to 20 years in the clink with Bubbah.

She murdered people to prop up her foundering meat pie business. Eventually, for punishment, the gods turned her into a talking teapot. This kept her human body in a state of metabolic stasis, which is why, when she regained her humanity, she appeared only 3 years older than her own son during that Manchurian incident.

You have to admit that would be an awesome series; a new story each week in which a killer must investigate the murder of his victim and solve the case by artfully setting up someone else to take the fall. It would be like a combination of Dexter and House!

Were can I sign up for that one?

I was thinking along similar lines--when the inevitable "reboot" movie is made, find a way for one of the more insane directors out there to make the movie and have a very blatant subtext where the most logical suspect is Jessica Fletcher. Though since this is now a reboot, she would be a quadriplegic Iraqi war orphan living in LA.
