What no Arkham City Thread?

In regards to the batarang, have you tried turning off the inverted batarang control. That made it a lot easier to control. With enough practice, I can easily soar through air ducts and other hard to get to areas to retrieve trophies.

I've actually tried it both ways and inverted was better for me, it was more like what I would expect from something you fly. It's not really the up and down that gives me problems anyway, it's making the turns in tight spaces that I continually crash on.

It's not really that big of a deal, it's not like I'm going to win a cash prize for getting all the trophies, but I guess I'm OCD enough that it's bugging me. And it's a little disheartening to know that I'm physically incapable of doing something that everybody else can. :(

ETA: Just discovered I won't get to play the Riddler mission through to conclusion if I don't get all the trophies. Kind of irritates me that they made something so hard, but whatever, still got my money's worth out of the game.

I just beat the game's main story last night (except the last room with Catwoman that happens post credits, took a few shots at it before going to bed). Incredible game and I am excited to go through New Game+ and do the side missions I didn't finish and get more Riddler Trophies. The main story just became so compelling and urgent that I just ended up ignoring everything else.

Not sure, but I figure we have to go to the basesment of the Solomon Wayne courthouse, where Calendar Man is locked up, to kick off the mission..don't know for sure though.

That's where I'll be going. I have no idea where else I'd start.

It's the 31st here and I went to see him - no sign of any mission. Unless it actives this evening???

Just checked... urg....

you have to visit him on Jan 1, Feb 14, Mar 17, Apr 1, May 13, Jun 17, Jul 4, Aug 16, Sep 3, Oct 31, Nov 24, Dec 25

Yeah, it looks like there is no specific mission for each day. You just have to talk to him on those specific days.

Yeah, there are ways to outsmart the game. Some of the other days are Thanksgiving and Christmas, and I know I won't be home to play those, so I'm probably going to have to cheat a little bit.

From what I'm hearing, it's not really anything other than listening to him tell a story on each of the specific days. Meh, not really worth the effort IMHO, and I sure as hell won't be playing the game next year on those specific dates.

I thought it was a cool idea, I just think it would be better served as an Easter egg rather than linking it to an achievement.

You could try just changing the time/date setting on your console. I remember doing something similar on the PS2 for MGS3 to get that sniper bloke to die of old age.

Excellent game, in my opinion even better then the original.
I'd go as far as to say that the Batman Arkham series is currently my favourite incarnation of Batman.

My only real complaint is that there are perhaps too many villians. They're all done well, it's just that none of them really get the limelight they deserve.

That said, I do like what they did with Freeze, especially how they kept to the DCAU motivations for his character.

Really have to say that near the end of the game, the "I Think You Should Do As He Says" music track really adds to the epic feel of the final stealth battles.

I agree this time around. I really wonder who they're going to use as the main villain in the next game. All the big people have been used, and I don't want the bad guys to get redundant.

I hope the next game continues to feature Catwoman as a playable character. It would actually be pretty cool for her story to coincide with Batman's story, rather than just being an extra side story.

I also hope the next game brings us to Wayne Manor and the real Batcave. I'd love to see Alfred, Oracle, and Commissioner Gordon as real characters rather than just people we hear over the radio. I think a truly Gotham-centric game would be absolutely incredible.

It would actually be pretty cool to have the next game be a mystery. He is the World's Greatest Detective. Let's have the bad guy not reveal himself until the end when we put all the clues together!

If you talk to him on all 12 dates you get a trophy/achievement. Storyteller I believe it is called. And yeah... I'll change my system clock to get the rest of the dates.

If the next game follows this one, then Bruce Wayne may have some problems when he gets back in Gotham, considering one of the side stories is unresolved really.

2 side missions and a couple of easter eggs hint at a sequel...

The "Who's who" kitchen sink approach was a lot of fun for this game but I wouldn't mind if they scale back on the next one and have a little less scope but go more in depth. It's hard to not try to go big and top the previous installment though. It wil be interesting to see what they do next. I actually have a yearning to go back and play Asylum again.

I agree. I almost think something like a murder-mystery story could be fun for the next one. They can have the full setting of Gotham City to work with, but I think it would be a nice change of pace to have more "World's Greatest Detective" and a little less "crazy combo takedown!"

I think I prefered Asylum over City just because the story seemed a little more solid. I felt the passage of time as things over Arkham Island slowly changed...as Ivy's plants started overtaking everything. I enjoyed City's open world, but I think it served as a detriment to the main story.

So how are people liking Nightwing? I find him possibly even more fun than Batman for the predator maps. The dart gun, electroshock, and escrima sticks are just awesome to play around with, and watch large groups of hapless thugs fall flat on their asses.

I am a little disappointed that you can't actually use him in the city proper. Also, Nightwing has always been the most talkative of the Bat-family. Sadly, they didn't bother to hire a voice actor for him, so he's completely mute her. Not really Dick's personality.

Ok guys need your help. I'm told by the guide I have that I need 400 Riddler secrets to open the final mission with Riddler. I have two riddles and 3 demon seals in Wonder Tower to get, and that's it. When I get these, I'll only have 383 secrets. According to the menu for the Riddler secrets, I have every other one that's available to Batman in every single area, from Park Row to Wonder City and everything in between. All the trophies, all the riddles, all the breakable items (cameras, balloons, etc). All of it, again according to the ? menu.

So what's the deal? Do I have to have Catwoman trophies too? That seems so unreasonable since her part of the game is extra DLC. But if it's not the Catwoman trophies, what the hell else can it be?

Yeah but you can switch between batman and catwoman if you have beaten the story.
