Man of the moment Joseph Gordon-Levitt may be joining the cast http://www.moviehole.net/201147503-joseph-gordon-levitt-might-join-tarantinos-django-unchained
New thoughts, as we await further news: Is Ennio Morricone still composing music? Because we all just KNOW Quentin will be using his music, one way or another, in this "spaghetti western". He used it in Kill Bill, he used it in Inglourious...
Yeah I'd be shocked if he wasn't used inn "Django Unchained". QT seems to like meshing old score pieces together in his films rather than hiring a composer. It is an interesting way of putting together a soundtrack. Although I would love it if just once he did work with a specific composer. It would be pretty amazing I think.
Has there been a Tarantino movie Sally Menke didn't work on? *edit - According to IMDB apparently not.
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/22271/lapaglia-joins-tarantino-s-django Another joinee in the form of Anthony LaPagia, with some mildly spoiler-ish stuff about his (and other) characters.
He did, sort of, in Kill Bill, vol. 1. "Battle Without Honor Or Humanity" is an original score, which the artist (whose name escapes me) offered to write for Quentin--for free. Quentin's interest was piqued at the idea, and he agreed. When QT heard it, he loved it--and put it in the film. On Ennio...I recall he was going to do the score for Inglourious, but for whatever reason, couldn't. So Quentin improvised, using some of his previous works.
Four more cast members, most of whom will be familiar to viewers of the small screen. A Duke of Hazzard in a QT movie? http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/22382/four-more-join-tarantino-s-django
A little something, not about Django, but about a FUTURE Quentin film: Apparently, the guy who played Worf's brother is cast in an upcoming QT gangster film. He announced it at a convention forum, this year (I discovered it, because Nicole de Boer's on stage, here, too.): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6Ext5N3nKU&feature=feedlik So...at long last, we'll see another crime film from Quentin!
^ ACK! I'm in that video and I can see my own bald-spot! EDIT: Wait! That isn't me! He scratches his head at 00:38 and he's wearing a watch! Whew.
Say what you want about QT, but one thing he definitely has an ear for is putting together killer soundtrack albums... Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, both Kill Bills, Inglourious Basterds... all excellent albums.
Cast member Garret Dillahunt has put up some set pics on twitter. He seems not to be alone in noting a resemblance to the set of Deadwood, in which he also appeared: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2012/02...set-pictures-may-look-familiar-deadwood-fans/
I don't know if it has been announced yet, but Bruce Dern mentioned at a Q&A for Twixt last week that he was going to be in this. I'm really looking forward to it.
