Humans have needs gorillas do not have. Religion, spirituality, and the need to find a purpose greater than yourself is one such need.
I don't require the belief that humans are anything special to be happy with myself.

That's a pretty wild generalization. I have no need for religion.

Which is why I included spirituality in there, which is a term that doesn't necessarily mean religion. It can mean self actualization, mastery, the need to love others, commune with nature, whatever makes you feel complete.
Animals don't do this.
Yes, it does.Spirituality does not mean what you think it does.
Secular spirituality emphasizes humanistic qualities such as love, compassion, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, contentment, responsibility, harmony, and a concern for others[8]:22, aspects of life and human experience which go beyond a purely materialist view of the world, without necessarily accepting belief in a supernatural reality or divine being. Spiritual practices such as mindfulness and meditation can be experienced as beneficial or even necessary for human fulfillment without any supernatural interpretation or explanation.
It's spirituality for heathens.
It's spirituality for heathens.
Well yeah it does sound oxymoronic, typical new-agey kind of thing.

Yeah, if you expand the definition that far, the word itself almost becomes meaningless.
You mean I'm faster? Since I obviously quoted you before you edited. You're even slower than my edits.
I disagree. If you read the section in question, you will see that the definition certainly does not fit all random nice things. It doesn't necessarily even include nice things, or the stipulation that you are nice to others. Just an overall desire to feel a connection with something greater than yourself, be it society, nature, the universe, ect.Well to me spiritual refers to the supernatural, as in Spirits, and does not apply to secularism or atheism. So yeah, stretch that word to all random nice things, and it doesn't mean anything.

People still play Counterstrike?
It's what separates us from the gorilla.I get a huge spiritual boner pwning n00bs in Counter-Strike.
