I found the opening three-parter very disappointing. I didn't believe the environment as a place where a sophisticated culture could evolve. The villain was a cliché (of course it has to be a shark!) and I had little investment in the Mon Calamari prince, who was indeed annoying. Besides, the story wasn't really about any of the characters I am usually asked to care about. Aside from Ahsoka (who already had an entire two-part season finale to herself last year), no one really played any important part in this, it seemed. Last season's start was a lot more interesting.

I thought this trilogy was a good star wars story. how ever the under water clone trooper armor looked alot like space marine armor to me. other than good story.

Overall I liked it. I'm getting used to all the overt homages they like to make. The Good The Bad And The Ugly, The Seven Samurai, Godzilla and now Jaws. Near the end of the episode, I was half expecting the Mon Cal kid to yell out "Smile you son of a bitch!!". Besides most of this is probably new to many of the younglings in the viewing audience.

I *love* the Clone Wars series, but one thing that does bug me are the aliens (generally boss-level bad guys) who are like, clearly meant to be a giant spider, or a giant shark, or a giant other kind of earth-creature. Just invent a new frickin' alien already, you have an infinite canvas to play with and you give me a giant spider? Ugh.

I finally saw Prisoners (ep 3) today, and I thought it was pretty good. I don't have any big complaints or compliments. It seemed to do exactly what it set out to do, but what it set out to do wasn't really anything that interesting.

When "Shadow Warrior" started being a Jar Jar masquerades as someone else episode I started groaning, but it actually turned out to be a cool episode. I thought the Gungans capturing Grevious was a pretty cool scene, as was Anakin fighting Dooku and the Magna Guards.

I never understand why the Jedi don't just Force push all the droids or do the droid disable ability (or is that only in the video games?). Why didn't Anakin just crush the Magna Guards in his Force grip? Of course you might as well ask why they don't do that to Grevious...

And god help me but I laughed when Grevious looked up and Jar Jar was adjusting the height on his chair, then again when he looked back and Jar Jar was in the elevator hitting the close button

Why in the world was this episode called "Shadow Warrior", though?

Gungans make for a bizarre half-hour of television.

I had some problems with this episode. Two weeks ago, they fly to the rescue of Padme and now they're on the verge of war? Yeah, I know the boss was manipulated (by a freakin necklace!) and the Gungan soldiers on the surface at least looked puzzled by the turn of events. But are they forgetting that the Seperatists tried to set up a biological weapon on the planet in Season 1 an that the Seps are aligned with the same organization that invaded the planet in TPM? If they actually considered it, that's even dumber than having the Trade Federation join the Seperatists but still be a part of the Republic. It's time for the writing to show some consistency.

The Gungan beatdown did General Grievous absolutely no favors but it was a well-done sequence. Was actually bummed about the death of the one cool Gungan there is, Tarpals. Would have liked to have seen more of him. The close-up of his face, the animation of the death face was very effective.

Jar Jar...you know, I'm starting to appreciate the characters comedic ability. When unleashed the right way (like on Robot Chicken) the character can be quite funny.

The highlight of the show was the Anakin/Dooku duel, which was quite awesome. I liked Dooku bringing up the Sith involvement in the original invasion. I think Anakin gave into the dark side in order to keep going. Dooku breathing heavy after the duel was a nice touch.

Interesting development with Padme initially refusing to trade Grievous for Anakin. Padme and Obi-Wan are more big picture kind of people and that constrasts with Anakin in a similiar position. But I actually don't think Padme's reluctance to trade with him would upset that much. I think he would be more upset that Padme let Grievous go. So long as he doesn't have to choose with a love one involved, Anakin can be a big picture guy too and he wouldn't want Grievous let go if it would end the war.

They have pretty much ruined Grievous as a serious villain. The guy can't even beat no-name Jedi without losing a limb. It appears they have no interest in treating him as a serious threat.

I do love the continued no-holds-barred approach of the violence. At least three stabbings tonight.

I've not even read a synopsis for this episode yet, but (I'm guessing) you've succinctly encapsulated it in one word. Brilliant!

Given Lucas stole wholesale from Kuresawa it's cute to see the producers continuing that trend!

So so episode. Agreed that the Anakin/Dooku duel was best, and I definitely noticed the Dooku breather. I also liked seeing the Gungan underwater city again, but that Jar Jar and the "astounding" Boss twin-switch scenario was indeed nausea inducing. Truly too bad about Tarpels. He's always been my favorite Gungan. That his sacrifice seems to be pretty much for nothing really sucks. I really wish Padme had agonized over it a tad more.

I very much like the use of native populations fighting in the Clone Wars. It should have been that way in the movies and earlier seasons of this show instead of the utterly boring clones v. droids over and over.

Later in the season when the Gungan army goes to Endor to fight the Ewok army working for the Seperatists it promises to be the greatest event in the series.

It'll be the reverse of the tagline from Alien v. Predator.

No matter who loses. We win.

George Lucas is simply racist when it comes to the Gungans. Mainly because they sound like Jamaicans. Not real Jamaicans, mind you, not any Jamaican who ever existed in reality, but what some ignorant reject who'd never heard an actual Jamaican speak might imagine one to sound like. Now that's racist.

Well, I was yelling at the TV again, this time for the Gungan boss not to go in and confront the traitor alone without any guards to back him up. Sigh, won't characters on TV ever learn?

The second half of Shadow Warrior was better that the first, however I'm with Set Harth on this point:
