wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

I don't really care about Sin Cara either at this point. Still waiting for him (talking about the original Mystico) to round out into form and adjust already.

...Hunico does a Springboard Senton followed by a Springboard Moonsault as a finisher...

A subtle point which has annoyed Chris Jericho to no end in his twitter feed.

That's bitching without valid reason from Jericho. The unwritten rule in wrestling is that you don't use the finishing move as another wrestler in the same promotion. Jericho is not currently under contract to WWE and hasn't used the Lionsault as a finisher since 2005. Sure, it's a move that Jericho is associated with but it's equally associated with the likes of Sabu (who ironically was using it as a regular move when both he and Jericho were under contract to WWE...where was the bitching then?) and Ultimo Dragon.

I remember that Billy Kidman caused a minor stink when Brock Lesnar did the Shooting Star Press at Wrestlemania 19. I suppose the etiquette only extends to a move that is associated to a big name. This explains why CM Punk cannot do the Pepsi Plunge (Triple H).

I wouldn't be surprised if Jericho was only half teasing in his rants about it...he does that from time to time. :) Of course that is no where near the amount of bitching from Kurt Angle regarding Jack Swagger's use of his ankle lock from earlier this year on twitter, although Kurt swears that he was just poking fun.

Well to be fair, Jack Swagger is pretty much an Angle clone (albeit one that is no where near the level of success that Angle has achieved...yet).

I can understand how irritating it could be that your former employer sees fit to create a similar character based on your gimmick and have the wrestler perform similar moves (the Ankle Lock), wear similar colours (red, blue and white) and act similarily (arrogant former amateur wrestler).

I think it was a mistake for WWE to "Angleise" Swagger, because no one will accept him as Kurt Angle #2. Swagger is talented, but he's no where near that level that Kurt Angle was at an early stage in his career. Swagger winning the World Heavyweight Championship bombed and following the loss of it, he's struggled to regain momentum. I think WWE should reinvent Swagger, whilst his character should still hold on to his amateur wrestling career, he should be characterised more Steiner than Angle.

I don't think they know what to do with him really. He's kind of in that Chris Masters, Matt Morgan mold but with more talent than those two. He's already a World Champion (ugh) but he's been put through the ringer lately. Hopefully by making him a strong heel and sticking him with Vicky's growing stable he can become something...more than he is.

I wouldn't let Kurt off the hook that easily Admiral M...he was being a real ass about it, albeit it was understandable as you said. This was during Wrestlemania and a lot of fans took it like Kurt was being a disgruntled prick during WWE's biggest show of the year...which is kind of why he retracted his statements the next day on Monday.

I cant' stand Matt Morgan, although that being said I have said that he would make a great monster heel champion in TNA. That is kind of my problem with Impact Wrestling, or one of them. They have all of this talent but they always keep pushing the same people on top over an over again. Same kind of thing WCW did.

So John Cena, Randy Orton and Triple H have only recently broken the glass ceiling?

The main event picture in the WWE features John Cena, Mark Henry, Randy Orton, Triple H, CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio. Only one of those (Alberto Del Rio) is new to the main event picture. I don't see WWE pushing anyone new to the main event recently.

In TNA you have Kurt Angle, Sting, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair in the main event picture, sure that's not ideal but you have to consider the they have not permanently been in the main event picture for an extended period of time. There is also talent that are getting a chance in the main event picture who wouldn't get that in WWE. You have Bobby Roode, Bully Ray and Crimson recieving that chance at this moment in time. In WWE you have have Cena and Orton who haven't left the main event picture since they both reached it in 2004. Triple H hasn't worked anything less than main event matches since 1999, even during his recent hiatus he has returned and entered straight into a feud with another main event talent and emerged dominant despite being put against a guy (CM Punk) who is superior to him as a performer in almost every way.

I'd say that they are just as selectively bad as each other for pushing talent towards the main event picture, it's just that WWE is more organised and adaptable.

^ You are forgetting The Miz!!! I never said that WWE wasn't at fault as well...my bitch was directed at Impact Wrestling though.

Speaking of The Miz, I think he needs a secondary finishing move. The Skull Crushing Finale is fine, but I think Miz needs to expand his repotoire to include a submission move or maybe something that he can hit out of nowhere.

I saw ROH last night and it was pretty much a glorified infomercial for their promotion...they had like 2 matches and a look back at a PPV match...nothing really special. The Main event was Haas & Benjamin Vs The Kings Of Wrestling...and the other match earlier was a tag team match...if their show is going to be more informational and not have alot of matches...I don't see it catching io...it was only an hour.

[edit] They will probably just use it to showcase 2 matches and then the rest of the time promoting live events, PPVs, merchandise.

Breaking into the national market is the hardest thing for any entertainment company to do. In wrestling, it's extremely difficult because you cannot hope to compete with WWE. You need to offer an alternative that will pull in respectable domestic ratings, whilst playing to the strengths of your organisation and avoiding a direct collision with the popular WWE.

TNA was very lucky to get where they were. They were fortunate to have a wealthy company (Panda Energy) financially backing them and standing by them, despite the troubles.

WWE's current popularity as a global entertainment business is only the way it is because Vince McMahon took a huge risk in 1985 (Wrestlemania), which paid off and catapulted the promotion into popular media.

I think anyone directly challenging WWE wouldn't make it...just being different enough and an alternative to WWE and TNA is good...and ROH is a decent alternative...but they have a long way to go...being part of Sinclair helps because they are a broadcast company.

[edit] I do think ROH could use a few more well known wrestlers and some more female talent.

ROH does have a working agreement with Shimmer, which is an indie female wrestlers promotion. Most of the female talent you see in ROH are on loan from Shimmer.

A few years back, some of the top Japanese promotions were based around womens wrestling. Promotions such as GAEA and AJWPW were a big deal and produced such world class talent as Aja Kong, Awesome Kong/Kharma, Manami Toyota and Ayako Hamada who have all wrestled in critically acclaimed matches against various opponents in promotions around the world.

ROH is'nt really known for there female wrestlers. I am hopeing that'll change here in the near future.

so looking forward to RAW tonight.

Maybe, I think ROH should set an example and hire a former female wrestler to book women's matches to the standard that the Japanese "Joshi" promotions have set.

I think Jetfire was talking about ROH being able to sign known wrestlers and developing it's own female talent pool. Jetfire also suggested (I think it was you Jet) that it would have been cool if the CM Punk program had evolved into an invasion program with ROH. It would have taken a hell of an agreement from Vince's side but I probably would have taken that than what we've been dealt with. I'm just hoping for a satisfying pay off from this whole thing.
