^I take it that this all took place AFTER the events of TIA in 2011, possibly even in 2012 or 2013 or something.

When the Doctor says "Tomorrow" I think he means in his own personal time line, not literally.

Oh, and either there are two Amys (well, actually two Ganger Amys!) and Rorys, or there was a massive goof last night - it's the day before the Doctor dies, right? ("It's tomorrow") It must have taken at least a day for Amy and Rory to get tickets and fly to the US after getting their envelopes, so there's no way they could be shopping in Colchester that day.

(and since this would mean Amy was the Petrichor ad girl before TIA, why didn't anyone ask for her autograph in the other present-day bits?)

Doesn't he mean in his personal timeline? - that is to say, he is going to go to that date and faces his death.

I don't think so - he could go anytime, you wouldn't necessarily call it "tomorrow", but the date is what we need to know - it's always been referred to as April whateverth... We need a good screencap of the newspaper's date...

He did. The only reason he came to that time was to set up a jump into... I forget the name of the 17 galaxies he wanted to slip into. He's a time traveler. "Tomorrow" doesn't mean "the day after the day in which I'm currently standing."

It is interesting that Moffat has set up both of his season finales around one specific date in time and plotted each of the seasons around this plot device. Last year it was Amy's wedding day where the universe was literally reset. This year...well...it's the Doctor's Death Day (a fixed date in time and space as we've been told, although I'm guessing this is a swerve of some kind meaning not the date we've been shown but a later future date involving a future Doctor). I'm really curious as to what is going to happen. Is it just me or have we speculated less on this than we did with "The Big Bang" last series? We've been focusing so much on River and the Doctor's death that we I don't really think have been paying attention to any potential big picture (such as the Brotherhood, etc).

There is no date on the paper. Also Remember the Doctor has to post the letters first and Rory and Amy need to travel to the US, so let's say three or four days at least - so I just don't see why his visit to Craig has to be literally the linear date before. It could be months in the future from Craig's perspective (and Amy and Rory).

We don't need a screencap of the paper...the date has been prominently displayed on the Tardis monitor several times over the season. It is 22/04/2011 and takes place at 5:02pm in the evening at Lake Silencio (notice the play on words with the Silence in the name of the Lake) Utah.

But we do need a screencap of the paper to either put to rest or prove Lonemagpie's theory. If he is correct, then the paper would be dated something like the 22/04/2011.

He has a time machine...

It could, and I think it's *meant* to be months after last week as far as the Ponds are concerned, but the phraseology and the way the Doctor gives his big "tomorrow's the day I die" speech to Craig suggests it's meant to be the date before.

Overall I think it's a goof generated by conflicting production/arc requirements.

If I'm right the paper in last night's episode would have to be dated 21/04/11 - the day before. (Or just possibly 20/04, if it was a paper left from the previous day).

Come to think of it - the Doctor also says Closing Time ends on a Sunday, so even the days of the week don't line up!

^ By the way I think you're right...which is why I posted the date from the monitor. Perhaps though someone will be able to find a screen capture...

It's not a view held by just about anyone else, but I'm quite fond of Silver Nemesis. Attack's alright as well, though not as good as Earthshock.
Don't take this the wrong way, Bones, but I have to say I find it rather amusing that you heavily criticize a lot of RTD- and Moffat-era episodes that I tend to think are at least good if not great, but you like Silver Nemesis! Ugh, even I don't like that serial. Bleah.
People have views. If you want to talk about Silver Nemesis then let's talk about fucking Silver Nemesis, but don't just pull popularity rank.
the baby joke never got old
The baby joke is great. Stormaggeddon.
:borg:

That was possibly the worst part I thought. It's the kind of "joke" you'd expect from Two Pints of Piss and a Packet of Shit.

Am I the only one who thought it was ironic to put in an actress synonymous with a show called "Open All Hours" into an episode called "Closing Time"?

Once upon a time Lynda Baron was the overly busty Nurse Gladys Emanuel, the focus of Albert Arkwrights frenzied pawing.

:)

I knew, I knew her from somewhere.

It could be his birthday maybe?

He has to get this shit done tomorrow because the day after tomorrow he's turning 1104.

Even if he's flesh, he's going to keep with the templates dob and age.

Which was my point, *they* still need three or four days from getting the letters to do anything which is why it can't literally be "tomorrow" to them.

He could've hand delievered them.

Unless he is using a cunning disguise as a postie - no (remember we saw the letters being delivered in the first episode of the series).

I don't recall seeing any stamps on the envelops. And for that matter how'd the Doctor get one as well?
