The MeTV network begins broadcasting Star Trek in their fall season line up, October 1, according to their promos.

It's still fun to watch when some thousands of Trek fans are watching together at the same time.

To see if you have a MeTV station, check their map:

I love this network. I'm watching "12 O'Clock High" and "Combat!" every day on it at the moment; coming also October 1 is "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea," which just finally came out with the last DVD set for a complete series.

Last night they played the William Shatner "12 O'Clock High" episode; and true to form, he ran away with the entire thing.

"I Am the Enemy", original air date: 8 November 1965.

I hadn't heard of Me TV. I'll have to check that out. Do you know if they're running the originals or the re-masters?

Yay! There's just something I like about TOS on broadcast. I like feeling there are others watching too!

^^Agreed! It almost reminds me of the '70's when I would watch it every week night at 6PM on NYC WPIX channel 11 and then discuss it the next day at school with like-minded friends.

Do we know what time TOS will play on this station?

I've only discovered MeTV recently...it's like having the old-school Nick at Nite back, sort of. :)

I checked their "Coming This Fall" page, and Star Trek is at the top of the list. So it could be a nice evening slot.

I tried to get the schedule for Monday, October 3, but it wasn't on the schedule yet. Normally, the shows play every day.

In put in an email to ask if they have a time slot for Star Trek yet; I'll post if they get back to me.

On this page, here are the new shows they have lined up: Star Trek, Batman, Lost In Space, Laurel and Hardy, The Rifleman, Peter Gunn, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Daniel Boone and Mission Impossible.

    /\ Philistine!!! :D

Excellent news...even though I've got 'em on Blu-Ray, there's something about it being on broadcast TV, even after all these years, that brings a smile to my face...

HGN2001, thank you; that's a nice time slot. With their affiliates, that will mean some thousands of fans watching at the same time.

    A happy coincidence!

BTW Jeri, I'm enjoying the run of 12 O'CLOCK HIGH too. I haven't seen that series since the '60s, so I don't remember any of the plots. What a good series that was.

Saturday nights on MeTV looks interesting with BATMAN for an hour at 7, LOST IN SPACE at 8, STAR TREK at 9, a "Svengoolie" horror/scifi flick at 10, and a VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA at midnight.

Harry, it does; looking forward to Saturday. Just finished last night's 12 O'Clock High. I haven't seen it since the 60's either, when I watched it first run. Fox hasn't issued DVD's, so I'm keeping all the eps in my DVR.

I'm attempting to save them too, against all odds. I have an interesting reception problem with our local MeTV affiliate. It's located in Orlando/Daytona Beach and is on VHF channel 11. From where I live, some 40 miles southwest of the transmitter, reception is not always guaranteed.

As a result, some of the episodes I've recorded have some dropouts - either a momentary and annoying blip in the audio, or a full-fledged smearing effect on the video. Last night was such a night. The recording looks clear for the first three acts, and the Act IV and the Epilog have problems. I might not watch it, but I'll save it until a better version comes along.

I'm recording them on a hard-drive/DVD recorder, editing out the commercial breaks, and then writing the episodes out to DVD. We just got this MeTV affiliate back in mid-July, so I'm still not through one full cycle on the series. I managed to grab five of the color episodes and then they started back with the first season. Unfortunately, reception problems nuked about five of those early episodes.

I'm also located about the same equal distance from Tampa's transmitters and there are rumors that 9/26 that city's RTV affiliate will switch to MeTV. I can get THAT channel on a cable, but am not sure I can feed raw cable into my DVD recorder. I need to experiment with that.

The Chicago station here is the original affiliate, and we get it through DirecTV. But I still had two episodes blacked out -- one almost entirely. It did not look like storm blackouts; and Combat! was blacked out, following.

I started watching this summer, too; I have a couple of color episodes, as well. I was glad to see in the schedule you posted that they're continuing so I can get them all. 12-OH has 78 eps. I have 40-some at the moment.

Thinking about feeding them to a hard drive -- or just recording iPod versions with a Nano. It looks and sounds about as good as a You Tube version. We get HD, though, and have to watch it that way. Our DVD recorder doesn't work with it.

Whenever the topic comes up, IMDB, etc., posters ask why Fox hasn't issued DVD's. People do want them, such as fans like yourself willing to go to trouble. I'm hoping at some point Fox will put out the complete set. I voted for them at tvshowsondvd.com a long time ago already. Best of luck with your reception issues.

I'm watching them late sometimes and wear earphones -- and I would say that I can hear what sounds like the film projector, if that were possible... Could they be using film.

I believe they are using a sloppily transfered from film to videotape master, probably done in the 80s. The episodes as broadcast now are speeded up to run 46 minutes, when they originally about 51:30. I too hear that "projector" noise when listening with headphones.

The speedup at least prevents heavy editing, but it sometimes makes fast dialog unintelligable.
