Any suggestions?

I don't know if you are able to save it to your computer, but if you are, you can upload it for free to makeownringtone.com. It will then text it to your cellphone for you to use however you like.

Download the clip, extract the sound and convert it to a ringtone file. Usually mp3 is enough, but iphone users need .m4r

The ring tones that came with the phone (a Corby pro) are MP3's, it was down loaded as an MP3 but will only save as an alarm tone.
so this is baffling me now?:shrug:

the corby doesnt support mp3 ringtones that are not DRM proctected. there are programs that encrypts these files but those dont always work.

Freecorder 5 allows you to save youtube vids as .mp3's, but that add-on doesn't work with Firefox 5 & 6.

And Goldwave is a good (free) audio editor which can import video files (as audio only).

I've got the clip as an .mp3 now, but does your phone have a limit on the attributes it can handle (Hz, Kbps, mono/stereo)?
