This thread really changed the way I talk about Trek. I don't get to do that often in RL, mind you, but it really did.

I say Tee Oh Ess. "Toss" sounds wrong to me...like tossing one's cookies (eww).

BTW, I'm very new here and a bit disoriented (not used to the site yet)...but I just wanted to say hello! :)

    ^ Whoo hoo...thanks, my friend! :)

I don't want to be bad by spamming this thread with Bones. Is there a McCoy thread anywhere?

TOS as T-O-S. It's a product of the other series being abbreviated TNG & DS9 (... and VOY, ENT to keep the 3 letter abbreviations up). TNG is pronounced tee 'n gee, not !tng or something. DS9, never heard anyone say dess nine.

I refer to it by it's proper name: Star Trek. Abbreviate it in posts as "ST" and refer to the franchise as "Trek".

That's how I pronounce them all. I don't like "toss" and I can't imagine saying "voy" either. Or "ent" for that matter.

I say TOS just because it is the "natural" pronounciation for my language (which is not English)

I read it as T-O-S and pronounce it as The Original Series. Now that I've for the first time ever actually thought about it.

Tee Oh Ess. I wasn't even aware "toss" was an option.
