Looks like the heart of it is going to move through west-central queens as it enters the NY area. I'm going to be on the outside edge of the main thrust, but still expect to see major wind gusts. Thankfully the worst of it won't start until mid day Sunday. I can't stand storms coming through in the middle of the night--very inconvenient.
Anyway, helped my neighbors put away lots of small things into garages. Hopefully minimal debris will be floating about. I'm just worried about my car, as I don't have a covered parking space. I was tempted to lash down a tarp over it, but I've been told the wind oscillation effect on it will ruin the paint. Got the grub clothes laid out for the soaking experience as the needs call for outside interventions.
