Some more amateur but enthusiastic shots from today:

Spot the landmarks:
A rainbow. It didn't appear to be raining even in the far distance. Can a rainbow be caused by smog/humidity? It was pretty anyway:

I was up on a hill, and suddenly the sun dropped and lit up everything so brilliantly. It happened so abruptly a number of people took a sharp collective breath, we'd all obviously timed it to be there for sunset (most of them couples, the rest tourists, and a few locals enjoying a romantic walk with their dogs). I was afraid we weren't going to get a good one, it left it till the very last moment - it was actually more beautiful through the naked eye. Had I been more experienced, I would have done a better job duplicating it in camera. I'm still getting used to balancing the manual controls.

I'd like to join the chorus and say how impressive those photos are, An Officer. I'm no professional photographer myself, but I know what I like and those photos you got are awesome. Well done!

) after completing the San Diego Rocket Race in 2009. San Diego is beautiful.

Isn't that a great memorial? I went to DC last year and we walked the mall and checked out all of them. It was only 107 that day....
