wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

@timothy have you paid attention to anything that has been posted in this thread? We've been through this with you countless times. Chris has stated to Vince that he's available any time Vince needs him. So this could literally mean we could see him at any time. I am gonna go out on a limb and suggest he could play a part at Survivor Series. I doubt he's gonna be back full time though.

@Jetfire...very interesting regarding Undertaker. I believe that's the first "update" on him in months. I could see an October return for him making sense.

^
Apparently he did shave his head...so Taker could have a new look when he returns...it would be weird seeing him and Kane side by side with shaved heads.

I think will probably show up as late as early 2012 to start his feud with Punk. I can't imagine Vince saying 'no', there's obviously money to be had there.

that would give the brothers of destruction a hole new meaning. it would be awesome if they got back together one more for the unifyed tag titles and hold them all the way up to wrestlemania.

If Undertaker does return in October, I can only see him wrestling 1 or 2 matches before going back on hiatus. Even then, Undertaker might just return as an on screen personality and not as an active wrestler. From what I understand, the Wrestlemania Undertaker matches are the priority for both Vince and Taker.

Taker's streak is a huge deal and the WWE doesn't want to put him in any further risk of injury. This is also why Taker has worked with only experienced wrestlers in recent years because the likes of Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kane, Edge and even CM Punk are known for their ability to protect their opponents in matches.

I wish Taker would adopt a mat based wrestling style. It would extend his wrestling career, should he choose to continue and it would reduce the risk of further injuries. Keiji Mutoh adopted a similar style in 2001 after having knackered his knees from years of moonsaults. Mutoh has improved considerably with this new style (as his previous style of wrestling was on the decline prior) and has given his knees space to heal. Mutoh still performs the moonsault occasionly, so this change in style has worked in his favour. If Taker were to adopt a similar style, he would need to drop some of the high risk spots, such as the outside dives. He would also need to reduce front bumps such as the flying clotheslines and taking DDT's as his shoulder is the main problem for Taker.

I think if WWE do away with the spinner belt, they should bring back a belt similar to this one. Only in platinum with a slightly updated design. I also think it would be cool to have engraved likenesses on the side plates of Vince Senior (who created the title and the founder of the WWE), Buddy Rogers (the first champion), Bruno Sammartino (the longest reigning champion) and some of the other greats associated with the championship (dependant on WWE of course).

Yeah...I think I read something earlier in the year that Undertaker basically is on the same "stand by" status that Chris Jericho and HHH have. They'll wrestle if Vince really wants them to.

I could see Jericho feuding with Punk, that would be entertaining somewhat. I think Chris has to reinvent himself though. The suit/heel thing gets kind of boring which is a little surprising coming from me since I think the Miz executes it so well but two guys with essentially the same gimmick is boring.

I think Jericho returning with an arrogant "rock star" gimmick (based on his musical endeavours with Fozzy) would be a cool character concept. We've seen Jericho do pretty much everything else

Early 1990's to WCW: "Lionheart" Chris Jericho - A gimmick based upon Jericho's arrogance as a pioneering cruiserweight wrestler. The gimmick later developed into a face role with Jericho laying the seeds for his next gimmick.
1999-2001: "Y2J" - Essentially what Punk is doing now. Cocky, yet driven to appease the fanbase.
2001-2004: "The First Undisputed Champion" - A gimmick based upon Jericho being the first person to unify the WCW and WWF(E) titles. Similar to "Hollywood Rock" in that Jericho would expect star treatment based on his accomplishment and wouldn't hesitate to start stuff up with the rising stars.
2004-2005: "Y2J refrain 1" - A return to being face, during this time Jericho started to host the Human Highlight Reel, an in ring segment influenced by Piper's Pit. It eventually got to the point where Jericho met with Cena and when Jericho failed to relieve Cena of the WWE Championship, Eric Bischoff fired him.
2007-2008: "Y2J refrain 2" - Jericho returned with much of the same traits he had when he first debuted for the WWF back in 2000.
2008-2010: "The Egotist" - Jericho turned heel and became obsessed with being recognised for his accomplishments. He had a brutal feud with Shawn Michaels, started wearing a suit and captured the World Heavyweight Championship on 3 seperate occasions. He formed a tag team with The Big Show and used the opportunity as Unified Tag Team Champion to show up on either brand when it suited him.

I dunno if Chris wants to mix in his rock star thing in with WWE in a gimmick. That's what he does when he's away from the business. He just needs something fresh and new, I don't care if he's only gonna be around for a while.

I really did'nt like jericho's last stint in the wwe the turned him into an ass instead of a heel. I usually like him as a heel. especially when he was doing his fued with stepheny and chyna.

Uhhh being an ass is still a heel gimmick timothy. There are differing degrees on how much of an asshole that character is but it's still a heel. Michael Cole for instance is playing an ass heel character right now and has been for a while of course.

impact was okay not great. I don't like it when "bull ray" is in charge he's playing his heel persona all the way to the hilt. I am looking forward to the PPV this weekend. I think the best match will be the kurt angle vs sting for the world heavy weight champion ship. I surprised they have'nt started a fued with jeff and mexican americans.

I'm now deeply ashamed to admit I liked the name Jeri-Show.

Heh.

A Miz/R-Truth tag team could be fun.

I think Jericho himself is on record hating the name. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Tag-Team.

I think it ties into my love of bad puns and terrible word play.

I also think Jericho should come back and just be Jericho. He's the kind of guy who can make it work just being who he seems to be in real life.

Good call, Captain M., on The Undertaker. Mutoh is a perfect example, and it likely would be of great benefit to Taker to adapt a similar approach. Still I don't see him wrestling more than two or three times a year. That's fine with me. It makes his appearances that much more exciting (I just hope they keep the Johnny Cash song a little while longer--Those were some of his best entrances of all time).

I still think we'll see 'Taker wrestle once and just cut promos. This could change if he feels physically fit. There were reports that both Trips and UT suffered injuries at their Wrestlemania match.

I like the just "Jericho" idea. He'd need brand new theme music though.

WWE has begun the annual releases! The first announced are...

Melina (not surprised with this one)
Vladimir Kozlov
Chris Masters
David Hart Smith

In addition to those, Gail Kim has also announced that she has left WWE.

^ Gail is getting married to Chef Robert Irvine soon so it's possible she no longer is interested in the business. Wasted potential anyways with WWE who never used her properly in either of her two stints. TNA used her okay when she wasn't being a valet.

I wonder how Melina's release will affect John Morrison? Probably won't but it is interesting. I'm not surprised at any of the releases really.

Well there was predictions of Melina's release as far back as last year. Apparently Melina really personifies the term "Diva" and as a result has constantly been involved in backstage disputes. Melina is alleged to have encouraged John Morrison to act cold towards Trish Stratus when Melina felt that she was left out of Wrestlemania in favour of Stratus. There are also many rumours surrounding Melina's relationship with Dave Batista back in 2005 and how that caused friction in the locker room.

Chris Masters' release is something that isn't much of a shock. Since his return to the WWE he has been left in the lower midcard role, perhaps as a result of his indiscretions (Masters was suspended twice under the wellness policy) and attitude in his first run with the company.

Vladimir Kozlov just didn't cut it, which is a shame because he's actually quite a talented individual with a legitimate sports background. WWE rushed him into the main event picture and when he didn't take off, they gave up on him. Apart from a comedy stint in a tag team with Santino, Kozlov hasn't done anything of notice in his run with the company.

WWE missed a big opportunity with David Hart Smith. A young guy with a second generation background and superior training, Smith should have been the Orton of this era. WWE made the mistake of splitting up the Hart Dynasty far too early, as a result both Smith and Kidd lost all momentum they had previously acquired.

I think Gail Kim will eventually return to wrestling, but I agree with you Admiral Young, her leaving WWE is probably down to her upcoming marriage and the desire to get off the road.

^ It really does suck being a tag team in the WWE. Impact Wrestling seems to have a more stable division and people that want to promote it.
