Whovian Whumor

^ Well, that was random. And not very funny.

That's cool. It wasn't intended for the general Whovian population, but rather for those who are also Bronies. ;)
hang on a minute what have I missed now, whats a Bronie?

The third entry for the term at Urban Dictionary puts it well enough:

Typically refers to 13-30 year old male fans of the 2010 reboot of the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but may also include females (see fillies).

Brony = Bro + Pony

While generally associated with a negative stereotype by outsiders, due to it's former 80's frilly girly-girl twinkle-toed tea-parties and all-female main casting, bronies are attracted to the new show by it's good animation, acting, writing, and humor.

Thanks for the clarifications, everybody. Much appreciated.

But if you have to explain it that much, it ain't funny.

ok so I have a follow up question

What 2010 reboot series of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic?

I may have missed this

edit:
ok ive looked it up on wikipedia, but this all seems a bit strange to me, normally I would think it odd anyone over 12 watching My Little Pony

You're welcome.

Well, the same could be said about almost anything in this thread, as those who aren't at all familiar with Doctor Who wouldn't understand most of what's been posted here without explanation.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a show that started on the cable network The Hub last year. It's in between seasons right now.

Understandable. But have you not ever in your adult life enjoyed anything that is mainly intended for children?

I quite enjoy The Sarah Jane Adventures, and ive seen some episodes of Young Justice, but the idea of 20 year old men, watching My Little Pony, what the hell that is just messed up. Fine some kids cartoons can be watchced by adults, but I would not think that of My Little Pony.

It doesnt surprise me one bit that 4chan has some involvement in this, more to the point, how is it that 4chan is so effective at driving web culture.

I shall yet David Mitchell have the last word on this

just replace Doctor Who with My Little Pony ( ;) )

What forum is this again?
sorry to have dragged the thread off topic, this whole Bronie stuff is confusing and strange to me.

Of course you could also be talking about the idea that Doctor Who is itself a kids show but its not My frecking Little Pony, a cartoon series aimed at 3-8 year old girls, apparntly being watched by 20 year old men, whom I assume are sane, and have the correct amount of brain cells.

don't worry, wamdue, you're not alone in your disbelief.

and people diss me, because i like the michael bay Transformers...

it worrys me that there seems to be some crossover between Whovians and Bronies, to the extent that one pony appears to be have named after the show.

As for Transforrmers, I have posted my views on this forum about the Transformers movie before, it seems the success of the Transformers franchise may not be the single most unexplainable thing on the internet.

HM, I like Pirates of Dark Water, Roughnecks, Avatar: The Last Airbender and InuYasha, but, even I draw the line at Care Bears and My Little Pony.

taking a break from Bronies, lets restart an old Sci-Fi arguement

Here's the reason Gredo shot first:

borrowed from Galfiery Base, in a desperate attempt to drag the thread closer to "on topic"

On tonight's Futurama Episode with the Giant Space whale, the Doctor was one of the many people rescued by Leela from the belly of the space whale....

I also saw a recent episode where the group travels back to the Revolutionary War period and mess up history.

When they get back to the future one of the hirst things we see in this future that the British won the Revolutionay war and one of the first things we see is a guy with a long coat and scarf running into a old style police box.
