Alexz Johnson was a hot Saturn Girl and played Laura Vandervoort's (Supergirl) younger sister on the Canadian drama series "Instant Star". She was a fine choice for Imra.

I would agree somewhat with Christopher's post regarding the Legion. It has a very dedicated fan base but can be hit and miss with most general comic book fans. You have to really get into it to love the characters and their history and understand their connections to the greater DCU. I first really got into the LOSH during the threeboot with Mark Waid's run. That made go back and discover their rich history, I had no idea how tied with Superman they were until I read some of their older collections. Then Geoff Johns of course restored and updated the Silver Age version of the team which is also the current team.

I recall some of the Legion characters from Superboy comics I read long ago. I need to reacquaint myself with these characters. The IDW press release says "a group of Great Darkness Saga Legionnaires inside a time sphere find themselves cast into the 23rd century. I ordered a copy of the trade pb - Legion of Super-Heroes: The Great Darkness Saga, ISBN 0930289439. This story arc has its own wikipedia article.

This is lame. IDW should go back to making serious trek comics instead of obviously trying to cash in. I liked Khan: Ruling in Hell, but Infestations was really bad, and now this. That said, I am looking forward to the new 'reboot' trek comic coming in September.

The Wold-Newton universe has actually been around for literally about 40 years, Philip Jose Farmer came up with the idea in the early 70s. I remember when I was picking up Best of Trek volumes seeing the occasional WNU article in those.

It's basically like an early version of the Tommy Westphall universe thing only not strictly bound to canon crossovers. Working to make a crossover universe that included (at the time) just about every pulp, comic, and TV protagonist ever, and expanded since then.

I understand what you probably meant by the comment but to dismiss that it couldn't be a compelling story and is just some kind of cash cow by IDW/DC is kind of silly to me. This is what comics do. There are crossovers all the time involving all kinds of different combinations.

The difference, of course, is that Bambi Meets Godzilla, unlike the ones Greg mentioned, was totally unofficial and on the level of a fanvid.

And it is as awesome as it sounds.

Basically Archie happens to be an exact double for some mobster the Punisher is tracking, and his trail happens to lead Frank into Riverdale.

^Well, Punisher and Power Pack have always existed in the same literary universe where characters always interact, so that's not really a cross-over of note.
