Are you talking about the places where the aztecing of the hull plates crosses a seam or model detail (like the groove on the strut arm)? I'll ask about it, but its likely related to the way the engine is designed.

Also, if you need more info about your account/banning, the only route to go is here: http://www.atari.com/support/startrekonline#tickets - and submit a Community Ticket (if you are banned on the forums but can still login and play, also note that you have to be subscribed to post as well, so it could be that)

That makes little to no sense.

The big blocks of black seem very out of place. Especially on the secondary hull next to the deflector where the whole damn section is enormous black panels. That would be my only real design gripe, though the split neck seems to be de-emphasized as much as possible for some reason, making the ship look much less unique than it should.

I think you're mistaking black panels for weird view aspect + lighting. Pretty sure the black is lmited to the "stripes" on both top and bottom of the saucer, and along the spine.

Could be wrong though, we need another bottom view or a video to be sure.

You can always re-colour those panels to a lighter grey or white, like you can on every other ship in-game.

Yeah it also steps on one particular Enterprise G design, as well as the Allegiance class ship in that Fan film series (Star Trek Odyssey) - but that is the nature of fanfic. Ohwell :P

Perception could be its own class with different names. I like Daks' Allegiance as well, but Adam's vessel looks a step ahead of that even. You might say that the Ent-E/Sovie design was refit with the roll bar between the nacelles by the time Dak's vessel comes along--is destroyed, and the winning Ent J entry comes to the fore.

Fuzzys fine entry could be explained if a Galaxy class ship fell back in time to the ST:TMP era, and design cues picked up to make that ship ahead of its time.

Had Adam's Ent-J winner had crashed back in the lost years era, or in JJs universe, the recovered debris would cause the ST:TMP Connie refit to look like Mojoemoe's Ent-J, which deserves to be fleshed out even more.

I've been pondering lately weather this quote form dstahl refers to my entry or Madden's

I have one "warning bell" when looking at those images.

It does appear that the windows are not along decklines. They seem to curve along the hull. I suppose for those on the very top of the hull, you can have big "bay ceilings" at various heights, with those windows. But on other parts of the ship, they seem to have no real relationship to specific decks.

So, unless the internal decks in this ship have rolling "hills and valleys" I think that the windows reflect (no pun intended) a problem.

This could be an optical illusion, but it sure looks that way to me, and I've got exceptional "spacial awareness" skills.

I don't know if this is Madden's or not, but the entry I think of when I read that quote is this one:

Which pulls a lot of cues from the TMP refit and streamlines them, Sovereign-style.

I see it in a few places - posted it over there to see if maybe he already fixed em up (the screens were taken before he made his final polish pass, he posted in some thread)

I'm an STO player, and I have poor spacial awareness, but I've noted this to be a common issue with their ships. They must have installed bicycling hills onboard or something.

Or everything has to be pushed into the edges of the spaceframe to make room for the gigantic bridge and corridors.

Yeah, I know. I hope one day, perhaps fanfics and canon will be able to work with one another, though I'm not unaware that this is probably to tall a hope.

The Allegiance class Odyssey technically wouldn't be conflicted since this is set, what, 20-30 years ahead? I assumed that like the Voyager, the Odyssey would be given an early decommissioning to be turned into a museum, as opposed to Starfleet taking the chances of her getting destroyed or lost, and losing that piece of history. Or the Odyssey was lost, and the newer Odyssey replaces her. To me, it would make perfect sense that the Allegiance class be the vessel after the Galaxy class but before this Odyssey, and I would suggest to CBS that they either work with this, or leave the time between to two canon Odyssey's completely alone.

I wasn't aware that there was a version of the E-G that is supposed to be an Odyssey class.

I was thinking the exact same thing, regarding the Perception class. There is absolutely no reason that the Perception class couldn't exist, albeit in slightly lesser numbers than originally intended. I personally like the idea that the Perception class was a competitor to the Odyssey class, but lost the competition in the end.

I also like Madeinjapan1988's suggestion that the E-E was decommissioned due to getting badly damaged more than once over the course of her career, and Starfleet decided to turn her into a museum ship, rather than taking the risk that her battered frame might one day finally give under the stress of a fight or some spatial anomaly.

It would be a rather nice in-universe story that Starfleet set up a competition to design the next ship of the line, one of which would be the next Enterprise, and the many companies flocked at the opportunity, designing or even building their own operational competition entries. It would clinch rather nicely with the real life competition.

I hadn't either, I just saw it being discussed in another thread... somewhere?

STExpanded Entry - Fanfilm intro movie

The ship looks familiar, or maybe just similar to another one - never seen the fanfilm though.

I agree that having Joint-strike fighter style competitions would be interesting to see in Starfleet, and would explain some of the weird variants we've seen throughout the years.

No wonder it didn't sound familiar to me. To me, it looks an awful lot like an Excalibur, so when I viewed the article before, I probably unconsciously decided to ignore that tidbit of information, assuming that she was supposed to be an Excalibur class anyways.

In this case though, even though I don't enjoy saying it, the fact that this E-G candidate has been eliminated is not necessarily a bad thing, since there are other candidates that are better done and better detailed than this one.

I'm familiar with Star Trek Frontiers. I like the music they came up for it, but their ship designs need some serious work. I'm not sure that Gene Roddenberry would like the idea of a separatist group or a civil war threatening to tear the Federation apart, especially if it had permanent effects.

They just released a profile compilation of the F, LINK

Looks kinda awkward in a couple of angles, but I guess they all do.
